UT is one of the richest athletic programs out there.Next year we have the biggest football and basketball venues in the SEC and at the top tier of the nation. We can afford to compete at the highest level in both sports.

From what I have been hearing it is about Rick Barnes' legacy.
As of right now Barnes will retire a forgotten man.
If he wins at UCLA it will be a big deal. Much bigger than at Tennessee.

They are chasing the ghost of John Wooden. They need a coach who has and can win a National Championship.
Pretty much Alabama before Nick Saban trying to find Bear Bryant.

I will honestly laugh at UT if he gets $5mil. He’s gone beyond their wildest dreams but $5mil is top 5 coaching money. He only got them to the sweet 16.
I live in TN and some here are nervous the longer this drags out, the more likely he is to leave. The others want Pearl back.
