Place to put my Nonsense Thread.

They've shutdown all water traffic under the bridge.

"At least 16 vessels with a total of 229 barges are parked up and down the Mississippi River after the Coast Guard placed a waterway restriction on the river Wednesday"

They're now thinking it could be months instead of weeks. Good times ahead.

I've only seen one gas station in my county that has gas. I'm an hour west of Asheville. It's bad. Lots of panicking. I thought I heard my wife say that the tribal offices are all closed due to the gas shortage (affects other family members, but not me).Fortunately, I filled up just a little before this crisis hit. I have 5/8 of a tank right now. I think I should be fine until next Monday or Tuesday. I saw 50+ cars in both directions waiting to fill up at that one gas station last night. And had a FB friend post this online. He says that one of his friends took this pic.

I am driving one of the county vehicles starting tomorrow. That way I can get gas from the county pumps. Wilmington is a total shitshow. Traffic backed up for blocks at each gas station that has gas. The majority of gas stations have their parking lots roped off. This morning I got up early and drove about 20 minutes south and filled my wife's car up. Followed a gas truck and waited about 40 minutes while he filled the tanks. But I was like the 20th car in line, so it wasn't terrible. My car has about 3/4 of a tank in it now, but I am not going to use that up when I have the option of driving a county vehicle.

All that said, I believe that picture is an oldie. Maybe after a hurricane in Florida? I know it has made it's rounds on the internet the last couple of days. Still the same sentiment, selfish hogs hording vital products instead of just getting what they need so the next guy can get what they need. We are used to it being difficult to find gas after hurricanes. But this is a much bigger pain in the ass.

So, someone was lying about taking the picture lol. His exact words were, "Shared from another person who took this pic locally." Wouldn't be the least bit surprised if someone was pawning if it off as their own.

I still only know of one gas station in the county that has gas - and it's only because they're not connected to the Colonial Pipeline. Heard the wait time was 2+ hours. I would go at 3 am to minimize the wait, but they cut the pumps off at 11 pm. People are freaking out. I'm okay as long as I can just get to the grocery store. I'll work remotely, if it ever comes to that. I have a few additional gallons reserved for the lawnmower. I'm more worried about the long-term effects of inflation than I am about the present moment of a shortage in gas.

The pipeline expects to be back up and running by this weekend. It's hilarious how people freak out over shit, like they're gonna die if they can't drive anywhere for 2 days. 😆

It's comical, for sure. It's fascinating how people are so sensitive to adverse conditions. I mean, we have seemingly non-stop positive conditions, if you compare it to any time or place in human history, and nobody says boo. It's expected. But, the slightest hiccup in a modern luxury often makes us freak out like the end of days are upon us.

People in Louisville are ******ed. No wonder we vote democrat. The stupidity around here is really something. In Kentucky we don't even get gas from this pipe, yet have idiots all over the place loading up on it in containers.

This is an ignorant statement. Our president has assured us that Americans don't panic.

I read they only delivered every 5 days and there wouldn't have been a shortage without the panic buying.

Dumbasses wouldn't even have basic human rights in Palestine. You know, the ones they claim they don't have here. I would like to see these idiots carry that banner on the streets of the west bank.

Palestine: Thank you for your support. Now we're going to stone you to death.
