“Check Mark Normand out he’s funny as ****”

sends two links- one short and his 53 minute set

Hail: “this sucks, I’m not gonna waste my time watching the other one”

Ghost- “dude mark Normands pretty funny, check this other link out that has essentially the same material”

Hail; “I’ll definitely check this out!!! Thanks!!”

You are one weird dude, Hail.

I don’t need to hate somebody to not want to have a beer with them. We’ve had enough interactions that I’m confident the conversation during that beer wouldn’t be time well spent. I wouldn’t have a beer with Afamu either. And I’d only have a beer with ExitFlagger out of morbid curiosity, if that makes you feel better.

I’d have a Lime-a-Rita with hail (or whatever he drinks).
Feelings mutual you liberal POS.

If I went out for a beer, we would talk money, women, sports, crack, the mushrooms we just ate, the weed we smoke, gambling, etc......you know, normal things.

I don't talk politics when I go out.
Exactly. I dont talk politics unless I am with my boys on the golf course and we are all staunchly conservative. We do yell Lets Go Brandon at the liberals we know in the hood if they are in their yards.

This. If I’m at a table of people talking politics, I’m moving to the next table and/or bar.
I hate it, but its pretty fun taking it in for 5 or 10 minutes. Most of the time you can probably predict exactly what that person is going to say next. I have to admit, republicans are the worst at this. Most times they have reasonable point of views, but they absolutely shit all over the validity of said views when you find out the reasoning they used to get there.

I don't mind a little politics in my convos as long its with rational people. I like people who propose solutions. I think political convos would be wildly different
on here if we were drinking beer in person. Esp those of us who really don't care for how each side is represented right now.

I don't mind political discussions but find most people who like to talk or post bout politics unreasonable most of the time. Even when it comes to comedy or entertainment or anything else they let their political beliefs influence them. Guy makes fun of liberals or conservatives then that bit can't be funny. Show or movie makes a point about social issues or something then it sucks. Company doesn't support x then I'm boycotting them and their product sucks. People let other things influence their life to much. They can convince themselves of almost anything in the name of the right or the left. Screw that. None of them like you or care about you so it is better to not like them either.

I agree for the most part. But I think there is significant evidence out there that suggests one side is much more cancel minded than the other one is.

On a macro level I would agree, which is important. Not on a personal level though. Both sides mostly have followers who are sensitive and inflexible in their views. Very few people are in the middle or even close enough to the middle to not be irrational and driven by their emotions.

That sounds fair. Just so we are on the same page, where the differences to me happen:

1. NFL players kneel for the national anthem. Conservatives get upset and boycott the NFL by stop watching and buying merchandise.

2. Someone makes a comment or post on social media. Liberals get upset because that person doesn't have the same views as them. They don't boycott, but instead say terrible things about the person and make brash assumptions from a single quote out of context.

I see liberals doing the same thing in my first example, obviously for different subjects. However, I hardly see any conservatives doing what my second example outlines.

I've seen conservatives and liberals get upset because someone doesn't have the same views and vow to never watch a movie with x actor or trash them on social media. I used to follow and see a lot of conservative views though so maybe that is why I experienced it more. I have a hard time believing people legit think that is exclusive to one group of crazies. I stopped following conservatives and liberals (at least people who posted from a political mindset) on various social media platforms because they both did it so much. Just became silly. Now my social media stuff is a way better experience. I almost always vote for what I think will bring things back to the middle regardless of party, which is almost always based on the irrational reactions by both bases.

Yea, no doubt conservatives get just as riled up online as liberals do. But in context, big picture, cancel culture is a predominantly left thing. Just look at cartoons and movies over the years. It isn't conservatives getting Yosemite Sam and Pepé Le Pew canned.

Yes, the left controls the media and the narrative so control things on a big picture level. I am vehemently against any sort of cancel culture. I am against cancelling almost anything for adults though. The market should dictate things IMO. If something is offensive then the market can dictate whether a company needs to change things. I basically think private companies should be able to do anything they choose though.

I’m with you. You seem pretty neutral, it’s crazy how some people don’t see the media bias. It’s definitely there. I also think you nailed it with the market. Let the people decide for themselves what is offensive and what isn’t. There is all kind of filtered data they have, I’m sure, that can see which groups of people buy what.

I’ve seen this joke quite a bit on social media. A lot of the canceling is coming from younger people and generations, my age or younger. And this meme asks “how did so many kids who grew up on family guy and South Park become so offended so easily?” Made a good point.

Conservatives go after Liberals on social media. They’re just old and using Facebook instead of Twitter.

I said they did

You did. I hadn’t seen that reply yet. I just wanted to call Conservatives old.

Liberal extremists do love to cancel people and things. They get clout from it, somehow, so they get encouraged to do it more. I think Conservative extremists cancel their own stuff, it’s just not as hip and they don’t refer to it as ‘cancelling.’ Like women’s reproductive rights.

The primary issue is corporations buckling to vocal minorities. Your spokesperson smacked a woman on the butt 35 years ago and 17 people have opinions on Twitter. So what? No reason for the spokesperson to get canned and lose other endorsements. Corporations are too risk averse and probably end up costing themselves money by going overboard with their overly defensive reactions.

Could not agree more with your second paragraph. Why do big companies have a hard time seeing what we do? Who cares if Karen in Delaware is offended? There is no doubt in my mind they lose money by listening to those kinds of people.

I’m just over it personally my man. It just isn’t worth my mind or ears time. They can have at it. Even on here, I try to limit my time in these types of threads. It’s a mirigoroud of boring.

This is an obvious lie.( at least the first part…I’m sure you harass young people on the golf course being a cuvnt) Your whole world circulates around this dogshit. Sit down little dude. You’re in timeout.

I still find it funny that I can walk into a patients room and know exactly what angles they will take if they have one of the news channels on.

If a patient has CNN I’m not going to talk about how me and my wife went to the movie theater or a football stadium, if they have fox on I won’t talk about how we thought it was a good idea for us to get the vaccine.

That’s pretty sad on both sides if you ask me. Brainwashed individuals.

Sucks because the silent ones like us are always in the middle. Got the shot, but happy to go to a live sporting event or concert. No middle ground these days.

There’s nothing worse than anti vaccine people giving me shit for getting the vaccine. I fully support their right to not take it if they don’t want. You do you, I do me. It’s simple.

But that goes the other way, too. Libs and masks. You want to wear a mask everywhere? Go for it. I don’t care. I’m not going to though.

I think the only difference I see is that Liberal extremists gain more traction in their own party than Conservative extremists. As things have unravelled, it seems like you have to not only be on one side, but you also have to hate the other. It's not even about ideas anymore, its about putting the opposition on blast. The biggest problem both parties face is that those extremist voices are growing in number and we allow them to dictate what the conversation is. We end up arguing over nonsense half the time while the vital impact issues are put on the back burner.

So true. And I'm with you. Never wear a mask, but had no issues getting the vaccine. People that stray from this thought process on either side, I'm not going to fully understand. Double masking after your booster, yeesh. On the flip side, shut up about your conspiracy vaccine theories.

I got no problems calling out a Q wacko. Country would be in a better place without them.

So the latest data says 73% of all positive covid cases are from the omicron variant. Where did the original Cov 19 and delta go? Is it natural immunity and vaccinated immunity that suppressed the numbers? Is the test actual specific enough to accurately determine the variant? Is omicron (by bad luck) just impervious to natural and vaccinated immunity?

Time to treat it like kids and chickenpox. Let in run through the healthy and the young.

Last Friday night, there were over 50 people indoors at the Christmas party. Saturday, there were over 20 of us in a house. I'll let you guys know how many of us die.

Isn’t this supposed to be the weakest of variants that doesn’t attack your lungs?
