I'm an accountant. Don't work for the tribe. I tried a couple times, but I could never land an interview. They openly state that there is preferential hiring for natives. So, I was probably a long-shot. I'm content where I am now.

From what I understand, the Cherokee here in North Carolina never really used tipis. They openly put it on display in tourist-type areas, though. Guess they get more bucks from promoting it. But historically, the southeastern Cherokee were living in dwellings with woven saplings, mud, or bark.
