Place to put my Nonsense Thread.

Idk. Doesn't make sense to me. Steriods, yes. Of course. But, marijuana? It's not going to make you faster, or stronger, or more coordinated.

I remember getting drug tested in college. It's so freaking awkward. You have a guy within a foot or two of you, watching you pee. Don't miss those tests at all.

Jim Boeheim lost 100 wins over guys smoking weed. Just dumb.

I've smoked a lot of weed and played multiple sports doing so. I can tell you from first hand experience, 9 times out of 10, smoking will not help your performance. If anything, it will hinder it.

Basketball, for example. Most of the time being stoned makes it harder to dribble or shoot. But every now and then, you get in this zone you can't even imagine if you haven't smoked. Very similar with golf. Most of the time, its going to make you tired and mess with your head, especially if its hot. But every now and then, you get relaxed and in a zone where you're hitting some magical shots. Can't explain it.

But as I said, its much more common that smoking will hinder your performance rather than enhance it.

Wish I could link the article I read awhile back, but they did a study with golfers playing sober, mildly high, or thunderbaked, and the mildly high golfers did best. 🤷🏻‍♂️ However, any sport that requires running and jumping, etc, I’m not sure how weed is going to help you in the long run.

I know exactly what article you're talking about. There was a quote that stuck out to me, I won't get it exactly, but it was along the lines "At this point, the guys are smoking the highest percentage of THC yet, and they are just begging to be done at this point" Had me rolling. I have definitely been there, too high to swing right lol

At this point, I usually smoke a couple bowls per 18. Seems like just the right amount

I never smoked before games, but a bunch of guys in HS would smoke a bowl before football games (the QB, RB, both WRs). I asked them if it helped and they pretty much reiterated what you said.

Haha. Yep. And I pretty much have to smoke when I golf. Sadly, barely time to golf anymore. But thankfully, plenty of time to smoke still. 😊

Yea, I can't imagine smoking before getting my shit pushed in on the football field. I could see it being kinda fun as the QB.

I'm pretty sure there's been NFL players interviewed, where they went on record and said some players stayed high, even for games. Before kickoff, halftime. They would be smoking.

One of the WRs had been smoking since at least Pop Warner when we were 10. I remember asking him one practice if he was good, because he looked completely spaced out, and he let me know he was baked out of his mind. Still the best athlete on the field.

The QB had legitimate 4.5 40 speed. So yeah it was probably fun being stoned as he went 80 yards to the house.

Our top sprinter might miss the Olympics for smoking cannabis.

Meanwhile, New Zealand has a man competing against women in weightlifting. All seems perfectly logical.
The more I think about this, the more it bothers me. This is straight up horseshit.

Turns out her mom passed away and she was "depressed". Yes, it's a rule, but come on.

Last local headline. @brooky03 should love this.

"Starting Thursday, people 21 and older are no longer required to obtain a permit to carry a handgun."

Been like that in ky for a year or so 😂

We had a kid who broke off a piece of his shoulder blade because a muscle spasmed while he was bench pressing. The doctor gave him muscle relaxers and pain killers. Before one game, he got them backwards and took the muscle relaxer instead of the pain killer. Like, a lot of the muscle relaxer.

He realized his mistake right away and had the ‘oh fvck’ look on his face. He went out for kickoff and quickly realized there was no chance he’d be able to play. Just stood/sat on the sideline like a wet noodle the whole game.

Pretty funny.
