OT: UK vs VaTech---Belk Bowl.

Tennessee" beat the brakes" off UK last year? It was at UT and the final score was 24-7.
However, 2 games later, UK did what I refer to as "beating the brakes off someone" when they went to Louisville and won 56-10.
Beating someone by 17 isn’t what I call "beating the brakes off" of someone.
And no, UK was not a better overall team with Terry Wilson out, not even close.

I’m not bickering or bashing, I just somehow offended someone because I thought Bowden was the best option. No smack talk in that.
Last years game has nothing to do with the fact that we should have won this years game.
And our defensive improved as the year went on? Surely that only happened because we moved a WR to QB, and not because we were still finding our identity after replacing almost every star on defense from the year before, right? It's probably best for you if you dont keep talking about it.

Basically our secondary was entirely new to start the season due to the NFL draft (even losing the only real returning contributor we had to injury before the season began), we were replacing our two best LB's including the best pass rusher in the nation and two of our best D-Linemen. But I'm sure ball control is the main reason we saw improvement in the defense as their replacements got more comfortable in the roles as the season went on.
You can think making our team entirely one-dimensional made us better, but you're still wrong. Stating your opinion over and over again isn't going to make it correct.
Of course Bowden made our whole team better, that is what great players do. He would have made our whole team even better had he been able to catch passes from a competent QB in his natural position.

....the 'talking down' being done here like U6 fans are somehow football 'experts' is off the charts here. Blockhead....this is why you can't be taken seriously. UK 100+ to U6 23 in the past 2 years and this is what you do? Maybe you ought to be more focused on figuring out what "Scott's Tots" need to work on to be more competitive.

I have to give UL some props anyways. They were much better then I thought they would be in one year with a new coach.

Hell yeah they were. Got a bowl win over a good SEC team too.
Some people don't understand how hard it is to win games on the field in a power 5 conference and I challenge anyone that thinks winning in the SEC is not harder than winning in any other conference.
Both programs and especially both coaches, deserve a ton of credit for what they have done.

I don't disagree with this. I think we did the best we could with what we had, and it worked out better than we had hoped, but I think with TT at quarterback our exectations were a little higher. Unfortunately, we'll never know. He's definitely coming into an even-better situation next season.
