OT: UK vs VaTech---Belk Bowl.

And lost to the team we beat. Good stuff.
After going to our 4th string qb, who is a wide receiver with no accuracy or timing, we had no business beating anyone at the D1 level. Once Terry went down, it took a while to figure it out.

If we played MSU now, we Would destroy them.

I'm damn proud of what UK football did this year for sure.

Your team played unconventional style football, not easy to prepare for when you don’t regularly see it. Other than Wilson, you have no other serviceable quarterbacks, please don’t count the true freshman or Sawyer Smith. Y’all had a good season, if TW hadn’t gotten hurt you’d probably still be 8-5.

Gonna be fun continuing to beating up on you guys

Did UK not just win 8 games playing a WR at QB? Wilson is good. Smith is solid if he's healthy. You don't go from throwing the ball around against Florida to not being able to throw 5 yards without a serious problem. Gatewood could be really good if he's eligible which who knows with the NCAA.

You guys are good, far from great. I love our coaching staff, we’ll be fine when we get more depth. Don’t over exaggerate your teams ability, good not anything more.

Has anyone said they are great? UK is really good at what they do. Which is grind it out with a bunch of bruisers in the trenches. For a team like UL it will take some time to get the guys there. There's something to be said for a team having an identity and sticking to it.

Playing Bowden at quarterback was probably the best option whether Wilson was hurt or not. Bowden was great, not sure TW is the better option.

All they did was run, and we aren't talking triple option either. That's not easy to prepare for? Laughing Everyone knew it was coming and still couldn't stop it. The reason they won was a dominant offensive line and dynamic quarterback, not because opponents were unprepared.

Wilson can run as well (not like Bowden's numbers), but we would have had both with Bowden @ WR/PR/KR.
And your offense probably doesn’t stay on the field nearly as long, that kept your defense fresh. Wilson’s incompletions means it lengthens the game for your defense. I know you understand that is huge for any defense?

They just won 10 games the year before with Wilson at QB snapping the Florida streak. Bowden was awesome at QB. Wilson if healthy is still the better choice.

What’s conventional about it again? Your best athlete took the snap, kinda like Lamar and a bunch of dudes....remember that?

No, Benny Snell was your offense, just like Bowden was this year.

When did I say it was conventional? I said it's not difficult to prepare for. Snap it to Bowden and let him run it between the tackles 85% of the time. Oh, the trickery!!

Exactly. Like I said, knowing what's coming is one thing, stopping it is something completely different.
RR said earlier that Wilson would make them better, I disagree with that. Last year when Kentucky needed its offense to produce, Snell was in the wildcat.

Nope, Wilson sucks, imo. Basically everyone knew he was going to run or hand off too, since his passing is about as inaccurate as any QB in the nation. Most success he has had at UK has been from a dominant O-line and a lot of help from the defense, as well as having Snell in the backfield. He's not the answer for their QB issue.

Wait, who the hell are you? I can't count our second or third string quarterbacks??? Not servicable??? How so?
Why can't I count Sawyer Smith? Please explain this to me? Before he got injured, he was carving up secondaries.
And we aren't allowed to count freshmen in your word? Why not? If he wasn't injured, he is playing qb over Bowden. So why can't I count him? He also was injured.

Oh I get it, because it makes UL look bad.

So you think UK played an unconventional style??? No, it's called one dimensional. Everyone knew what UK was going to do and UK was still successful. That's not unconventional, that just shows you what talent and a damn good O line can do.

I know it burns your ass that UK smoked you guys and got 8 wins all while using a wide receiver at QB, but you look like a fool trying to knock their accomplishments down.

Because one is a hs player that you know nothing about on the college level, and Sawyer is just not good. Comprehend that? He might’ve been your 4th option, but he’s easily your best option.

Haha, you have no idea what you're talking about. Your hate for UK is blinding you. You're trying to act like UK had an advantage because 3 quarterbacks got hurt and Bowden had to play quarterback.

You are out of your damn mind. Just because Bowden is UK's best player, doesn't mean they can pull off running the ball down everyone's throats.

So, because you think Sawyer sucks, I can't count him??? Again, who the hell are you? He's a very accurate passer and was easily good enough to win games, even in the SEC.

Also, I don't care that we don't know anything about Gatewood, he has a scholarship to play qb at UK, so obviously he has talent and can throw a football.

Hilarious, you guys got pummeled, so it's only natural for someone as biased as you to look like a fool just to knock the accomplishments of the team you hate.

UK fans take a beating on here for this type of garbage. I've paid many compliments to UL, football and basketball, but you guys are so ate up by UK winning that you can't help yourselves.

I never thought in my wildest dreams that even Louisville fans could knock what UK football did this year. Wow.

I saw Sawyer play, he’s f***ing terrible!!!! You have no idea about how good the 3 star hs qb is do ya? You are the dumbest sob if you think I’m saying Kentucky didn’t have a good year, you was projected to win 7 and you won 8 games. Did I hurt your princess feelings? Lol

What would y’all have been Mr wise fella? 10-2 lol

You mean like in the Florida game where Wilson accounted for 250 yards of total offense and all 3 offensive touchdowns? Snell was an incredible player. So was Bowden. But UK has two really good running backs (Smoke and Rodriguez) ready for huge roles next years.
Bowden was incredible. I wish they would have switched to him in the USC/MSU games. Odds are they probably flip at least one if they do. But Wilson makes them a lot less one dimensional and is very mobile himself.

Trust me when I say this, everyone on here can see your biased view. Everyone can see how ate up you are with Kentucky.

You WANT to believe that Sawyer Smith sucks, but your opinion means nothing, plus it's completely wrong. The kid isn't an NFL quarterback, but he's a good college quarterback. He's better than what UK was used to getting to be honest.

Bottom line, unconventional or not, UK took one guy behind a really good offensive line and won 8 games while playing in the toughest conference in the country. You look like a fool trying to knock what they did, especially after UK prison raped your UL team repeatedly while playing one dimensional football.

We went 8-5 after going 2-10 last year, and beat a quality opponent in a bowl equivalent to UKs. I’m not mad lol.

Which is an awesome accomplishment.

I'm sure you wouldn't appreciate fans of other programs poking holes in it just because they don't like Louisville.

Going 8-5 in any power 5 conference is hard enough, but doing it with a 1 dimensional offense and with a non throwing wide receiver in the SEC is pretty freaking impressive. If Louisville did that, I would give props.

Acting like it's laughable that UK could have beat USCjr and a bad MissSt team had it not been in the middle of 3 QB injuries and trying to find an offensive identity says a lot about your lack of football knowledge or your bias.

Edit: forgot to mention the UT game we should have won anyways.

Mississippi State is not close to VT. They barely were bowl eligible. You guys had a great bounce back year.
Both teams are happy with their trajectory. Only one fan here is discounting the other team though.

Tennessee was worse last year and beat the brakes off of you with Wilson. I’m not saying that Bowden is a better quarterback, I just think he made your overall team better. Look at your defensive numbers after Bowden took over for the season, and that’s not against MAC teams. Apparently you guys don’t understand what I’m saying, so I really am not going to keep talking about it. Y’all had a good year, I will acknowledge that.
