Rolling, fella's. I said if he ever started hitting the fairways, he was get it going. Right now, he's 5 shots up. And just missed a damn birdie putt. Don't know how it didn't go in. You can feel the body language of the other---Its a simple---"Fvck. Now what do we do"?

Hope he keeps it going next weekend.
Me too. He is playing well. Really, he's played solid for most of the year. Just couldn't hit a fiarway to save his life.

Today he's been a bit passive. But guess I would be to if I had a 4 shot lead, with 9 to play.

Getting tight.............Lead down to 2 strokes with two to play.

Shewww........Good par save there. 2 shot lead. One hole to play. Par 5.

Bruh, you couldn't have put this in the other Tiger thread you just created like an hour ago?

I love watching greatness and that guy keeps me glued to my tv.
Golf sucks without him.
Can't wait until the 2019 Masters, he should be in top form by then.

He looked like Tiger of old, today. Played smart, smart golf today.

Rory said something a couple of weeks ago that I'm sure Tiger won't forget.
He said we aren't getting the tiger that Phil and Sergio got, the Tiger we're playing isn't as intimintimid.
That's about to change and I think Rory felt it today. He crumbled.

Yep. Rory fell apart rather quickly. The shot of him after Tiger's birdie of the 1st hole told the story.

He has been solid this year for sure. I'm not sure I will ever be a fan but I like him more than I used to. I do hope he kills it for the US next weekend.

Always gotta respect guys in sports that look like they have lost that "it" for good. But figure out a way to find it again.

Not a golf guy, but from an outsider this feels like Tebowmania. Was yesterday really some remarkable accomplishment or is the media just so starved for someone to be marketable in golf again that they are going to run with this as fuel for golf coverage for another year?

I get some of the hype. The guy went from the penthouse to the outhouse. All his own doing. His golfing hit a low years ago where one Sunday he played all by himself.
He is probably the best ever, but I still don't care for him. The media and so many fans cream down their leg at the thought of him winning.
Everyone else crumbled yesterday, but it's not like he went out and dominated. He shot 1 over.

At the end of the day, hes just another guy out there right? Won some minor event, in majors he is a non factor, in media coverage he is a huge factor.

He won the Tour Championship. I think some golf nuts believe that tournament is more important and prestigious than the PGA Championship. At worst it’s the 5th or 6th biggest event of the year.

Also, he was in contention for the win in the final 2 majors of the year. So he wasn’t really a non factor.

He’s come on strong of late and he’s arguably one of the top 5 biggest sports names in history. 95% of people out there assumed he was done. This is a pretty big deal. If he wins a major next year it’ll be a top 5 sports story of this century. No joke.

He won the Tour Championship. That isn't some minor event. Most of the top guys were playing in it.
Not to mention he has come back from 4 back surgeries including a space nal fusion. He is also now the #13 ranked player in the world after starting the year #656. As far as being a non-factor in majors, he finished 6th in the British Open and 2nd at the PGA Championship. So yeah, far from a non-factor.

Alright alright Tiger fans, if hes actually winning/competing in something of significance I get it. ESPN hype trains without merit just get under my skin, but it appears this is not one of those cases.

He was a grade A prick years ago, totally ignored his fans while he played, and cursing. The problem was no one in the media ever called him out, because he was their meal ticket. Until he got caught cheating on his wife. I remember after all this one time he spit on the green. The media crucified him.

I hope he doesn't get back to being that prick again. It has been a little refreshing seeing him give high fives to fans walking from green to tee.

I think he has a good story for a lot of folks. You fall, make some bad mistakes, but hold your head up high and get back at it. For that alone, I have a little admiration for him.

What the **** is wrong with cursing?

I've heard he's a prick too but him ignoring people screaming at him during a golf tournament isn't a reason to be disappointed in his character, IMO.

I don't know many guys that are called pricks that have good character. It was everything all rolled into one with him.

He seems to have softened a little, I hope anyway. If so, that 8 iron years ago to his head was the best thing for him.

Do you play the game of golf?

Highly unlikely he does other than occasionally hack up a course. I am about that good as well , but have a real understanding of how difficult it is to win like Tiger did before. It was so remarkable Tiger from 2006-2009 , what he was able to do. Win like nobody ever has. Tiger the last 120 days looks like a top 3-5 golfer in the world. Now can he physically sustain it?

Health will be the key. He could have a few good years left or the back could go at any time. The golf swing is a very unnatural movement. Especially at the speed he still has in his swing. If he keeps hitting a the fade off the tee and putts near like he did this past weekend, he is going to win some more.

I acknowledge how good the guy was, and is. What's my golfing have to do with my opinion on Tiger? He, before the pills mess and his infidelities, was nothing short of a prick. Pricks can prove to be good players. He may be the best. Doesn't change what kind of person he was. He seems to be a little more engaging with the fans. I like seeing that.

It is amazing that he can do what he can after four back surgeries.

And he isn't using that Nike putter anymore.

Actually, he was pretty dominant. He led by three shots after the first three holes---- --- And it never got under three until the 17th hole, on the final day. He led by as many as 7 shots. Tiger played smart on Sunday. He was playing to make the field come to him; Not him going to the field. He was never really in any danger of losing.

"Some minor event"? I'm assuming you don't follow golf? Non-factor in majors?

Naaah...You don't watch golf.
I am not an avid follower and I know better than this. It's just Tiger set the bar so high for over a decade. That if he isn't winning a major a year the untrained sports commentator thinks he sucks.

Yes, it actually was. He's had four, major back surgeries. A year ago, he couldn't even make a cut. Yesterday, he wins one of golfs most prestigious, and most difficult tournaments. And he done so rather easily. Versus some of golfs best playuers. So yes, Its a huge feat. And if he comes out next year, and wins a major? Big time story.
