This is why Purdue fans won’t be upset if Trevion Williams has to split minutes with Edey.

Jaden Schutt just got a Duke offer. Hopefully MSU can still land him, but some kids just love the blue bloods.

It’s wild to me that basically everyone of note is under the same consensus that Purdue has an elite team and will be at minimum top 3 in the big ten and top 10 in the nation, but a large sect of the fan base on this board has chosen to disregard all that and allow one anonymous user who isn’t arguing in good faith to eat their fvcking brains.

I mean if it were me I’d probably just enjoy getting to watch a successful team, but the commitment to the “everyone is doubting us” bit is impressive too I guess. Just in a much more insecure way.

Who said anything about “everyone is doubting us?” It’s almost exclusively in response to Trojan as it’s too easy with some of his awful games. The other IU fans have either disappeared or have acknowledged that Purdue will be good next year.

LOL pretty fair. That's why I largely just mock the guy.

Most of the IU fans here were generally good posters (tommy, klize, you, borden) but now we're left with like 90% of the IU posts (maybe 90% of the posts in general) being from trojan.

Not ideal.

The funny thing is, I also agree that Purdue is top 3 in the Big Ten and top 10 in the nation. Purdue fans are just butthurt that I don’t think Jaden Ivey is on the same level athletically as some of the best athletes ever to play the game.

I have also acknowledged Purdue will be good next year, dumb*ss. They have literally been top 2 in every projected Big Ten ranking I’ve posted.

Yeah buddy, that’s pretty clearly who I’m talking about. If you don’t want to classify it as an “everyone is doubting us” shtick, that’s fine, but “the vast majority of all our posts are reaffirming Jaden Ivey is really good with added tongue in cheek disparaging comments thrown in to dunk on that stupid stupid dummy Trojan” shtick seemed a little verbose for my post.

Purdue fans have never said he's on the same level athletically as some of the best athletes to ever play the game.

We just think you have a really stupid definition of "Elite/Top tier".

Typical Trojan hyperbole at play.

I’m not sure how having them in the same tier is different then them being on the same level.

Regardless, this argument has been had 4 or 5 times on here in the last few weeks and really isn’t worth discussing further. We aren’t too far away from seeing if Ivey takes the jump your fan base is expecting.

I think the former 2 in that grouping are gone for good unfortunately.

I understand there’s going to be banter both ways, and there should be. And Purdue clearly has the high ground because it’s been approximately a billion days since IU’s last win against Purdue. I would just say we’d probably all be better off with a little self awareness to realize the difference between banter and actual criticism. It would probably make this thread infinitely more readable.

Also, this is not asking for any sort of reprieve from trashing IU. Tell me it’s a dumpster fire program, I promise you it won’t eat my brain.

Maybe this post will help clarify my opinions for Purdue fans.

Purdue will finish either 1st or 2nd in the conference.

Purdue will finish the season as a top 10 team and get a 1 or 2 seed.

Jaden Ivey is a lock for 1st team or 2nd team All Big Ten.

Trevion Williams is a lock for 1st or 2nd team All Big Ten.

One of Ivey or Williams will be an All American.

Ivey will be drafted in the first round next year.

Nail meet head. And it's made the board unreadable

Still needs to get that 3P% up but I love watching Ivey in the open floor. He had a bunch of steals that led to breakaways this week. I also think he can be a late game point guard when Purdue needs to score. Purdue with Ivey/Sasha/Newman and one of the bigs will be hard to defend.

I do think Ivey/Sasha/Newman is your most dangerous backcourt

How? You were the presumed leaders before he visited us
Reed’s a strange one. MSU was the perceived leader after his visit to us, than OSU was the perceived leader after his visit there, now UM is the perceived leader after his visit there.

Would be a nice get for UM.

Not sure who had Osu as his leader but I don’t think it’s reciprocal. From everything I’ve read Osu has never pushed for Reed and has other bigs ahead of him.

Typical teenager

I agree though. I like him more than Jalen Washington. I Dont get how that kid is so highly ranked

Potential more than production, but there certainly is major upside with the tools he has
You talking about Washington? He's fairly skilled for his height, but has absolutely no explosion due to all of his knee problems. I dont think I've seen any recent highlights where he even dunks. Maybe its just me, but I want my centers trying to dunk whenever they're around the rim. I think he's a back end top 100 kid...I dont see a 5 star at all at this point and with his injury history, I doubt he does much at UNC
