Hahahah

Mike Davis > Underwood
Kelvin Sampson > Underwood
Tom Crean > Underwood….

Archie >>>>>>> Groce

Underwood had a decent year with two All Americans where he finished second in the Big Ten and didn’t make the sweet 16. After losing those two All Americans, an additional 5*, and his two best assistants, things aren’t looking great.
No. No. No. Yes.

Illinois was ranked number 2 in AP going into tourney, upsets happen.

You clearly have as little insight into our assistant coaching as you do with our recruits. Still no 5-stars, not Ayo, not Kofi, not Miller.

We will be a top 15 team barring any post players being added to the roster. If you can’t see the trajectory I don’t know what to tell you. Must be tough to watch from your perspective.

Does Underwood have a Final 4? Mike Davis, Kelvin Sampson, and Tom Crean all do… Archie even has an Elite 8.

GTFO with your Underwood BS

Where’d they rank after the tournament?

If it’s so easy, what’s taking Illinois so long to get there? How old were you the last time Illinois made the Sweet 16?
I think we all witnessed the John Groce and Bruce Weber eras. Why did it take Michigan 10 years to make the tournament? Bad coaches happen. Underwood isn’t a bad coach, but you sure can keep wishing. Maybe some thoughts and prayers will help even.

I wished Illinois would miss another Sweet 16 and it came true. That’s 15 straight years of wishes coming true.

Were you a toddler the last time that happened like Archetype was?
You must be really worked up by him. I haven’t seen you desperately troll like this in awhile. You were doing so well.

@Jaycg15

I bet Michigan makes another Sweet 16 before Illinois does.

Stop being so afraid of Phil Martelli out performing Underwood in the tournament (again) and accept that bet.

Did you also wish for 49 points in a loss to an 11 seed?
You don’t get to talk shit to a program who lost in the Elite 8 when your program hasn’t seen a sweet 16 in 15 years and the best team you’ve had in 20 years gets upset in the 2nd round. This isn’t difficult but for some reason you can’t get past it. Just tap out and give up.

Jesus dude. Making up some arbitrary law on shit talking based on advancing in the tourney is one of the weirder things I’ve ever seen. White knighting to the next level.

As someone who doesn’t like either IU or Illinois, that statement is laughably bad. Sampson was/is a shady dude but he’s a much better coach than Underwood. Shit, even Tom Crean is. I’d take those two over Underwood any day of the week.
And it’s fully confirmed you’re just a moron.

Illinois will be a consistent top 10 team under BU. This is just the beginning.

Underwood is more likely to get in trouble with the NCAA with sanctions than to have a consistent top 10 team.

You dip shits, conference championships are all that matters.
No one gives a shit that a team beat Grand Canyon University to get to the sweet sixteen.

Purdue is king.
Are we talking about regular season title or conference tourney title?
And I don't remember Purdue winning either for 2020/21.

Historically Purdue.

Conference titles.

Pretty sure it was harder for Michigan to win the Big10 than it was for them to beat Texas Southern, LSU and FSU in the tournament.

I’d rank Elite 8’s and conference titles similarly. If you’re one of the last 4 teams or beyond, that’s more impressive than winning our conference.

@hailtoyourvictor

Houstan looking pretty damn good in this U19 game against Lithuania. Edey is the clear defensive anchor, but hasn’t done too much on offense. The weird ball seems like it’s messing with his FTs. Canada’s offensive scheme is also pretty flawed.

Is there a place to watch those streams? When do the USA Boilers play?

Oof. Those two recruited better than Underwood because of Indiana. Neither is a better X’s and O’s guy. If you study basketball in any detail, you would cringe at the claim.

That said, Sampson actually is a good coach. Crean was laughably bad at doing anything other than the game plan his assistants drew up to start the game. His in game adjustments were non-existent.

You talk shit to Indiana fans. Might want to consider your logic there, bud. If we’re going to use tournament success as a barometer for who can talk shit to whom, we probably shouldn’t be reading so many of your posts.

IMO, IF we exclude the cheating, I’d take Sampson over Underwood, but there is now way in fck I’d take Crean over Underwood.

Let’s not be logical. Beating Will Wade and Leonard Hamilton is a monumental task. Just ask Hail. Bow down to those who beat perennial titans Texas Southern, LSU, and FSU in consecutive games.

Yeah, Sampson is a good coach with a solid history. I think Underwood will end up with a better resume, but I don’t take issue with that.

The Crean argument is dumb. He’s clearly over his head in a power conference. MM level coach that had flashes because Indiana’s history lured talented kids. Whether or not you like Underwood, he clearly is comfortable and successful at this level.
