I’d rank Elite 8’s and conference titles similarly. If you’re one of the last 4 teams or beyond, that’s more impressive than winning our conference.

That said, Sampson actually is a good coach. Crean was laughably bad at doing anything other than the game plan his assistants drew up to start the game. His in game adjustments were non-existent.

IMO, IF we exclude the cheating, I’d take Sampson over Underwood, but there is now way in fck I’d take Crean over Underwood.

Yeah, Sampson is a good coach with a solid history. I think Underwood will end up with a better resume, but I don’t take issue with that.
The Crean argument is dumb. He’s clearly over his head in a power conference. MM level coach that had flashes because Indiana’s history lured talented kids. Whether or not you like Underwood, he clearly is comfortable and successful at this level.
