LMAO @ IU football...Laughing

Down 31-9 to MInny. Battle back, tie at 31. Get the ball with 3 minutes to go, and..........We do what IU does. 3 and out. Punt. 1st play............67 yard TD pass. Ensuing possession?

Yeah, we fumble.Laughing

Cursed. I'm starting to think someone affiliated with Indiana football had a hand in the Ruth trade.

BTW-----I recall when IU was 3-0. I made the comment---"this is a team that could win 8 games, or lose 8". I was scolded by a fellow Hoosier who stated---"this IU team ain't losing 8 games".

Hmmmm........We are now 4-5. Hope I'm wrong. But, I dunno who we are beating. Maryland, UM and Purdue to close.

Guilty as charged. Disappointing to say the least

I wasn't gonna call ya out, bro. Quite frustrated myself. Only IU could do what happened tonight. Hope I'm dead wrong and we beat MD and Purdue to get to a bowl. Both are at home.

Looks like CBS ranked all 353 teams. Their rankings for Big Ten teams seem to be the most accurate, i.e. they agree with me.

10. Msu
17. Michigan
23. Indiana
29. Nebraska
32. Maryland
36. Wisconsin
43. Minnesota
44. Purdue
58. Iowa
70. Ohio State

I might slide Msu down a few overall slots, but seeing Winston's efficiency numbers being considerably better than Miles Bridges from last year has me wondering if the Spartans are possibly cusp top 10.

The next five fall right in line with approximate NCAA bid.

Ranking Minnesota ahead of Purdue is interesting, but not outlandish. This may come as a shock to the Boiler folk, but the Gopher roster is better than their own. Fortunately, Matt Painter is probably a two game advantage over Dick Pitino in coaching. Thus I see the Boilers sneaking into the NCAA while NIT games being played at the historic Barn.

Iowa and Osu are probably on the outside looking in, but Holtmann could make lemonade from his lemons.

Just got back from a Halloween party with a bunch of IU fans in attendance. I’d be lying if I didn’t say it felt good to see them melt down in front of the tv’s and lose to a pretty bad Minnesota team. All of this will be moot if IU beats Purdue in Bloomington but I’m feeling pretty damn confident about that game now.

If I had to bet, I'd say it's unlikely IU is going bowling. That Minny game was a bit of a must-win IMO. Maybe you get 1 of MD/Purdue, but winning both games will be tough. I'm not sure IU can stop Purdue's offense.

Just because you suck at it though. If you were good you’d care. I’d care about Purdue football even if they went 2-10 every year unfortunately. My grandpa played for Purdue so I’m cheering for them come hell or high water.

Meh, I guess. Not really though either. I root for IU sports. But I FOLLOW Indiana basketball. THere is a difference. A loss like tonight----??Meh, you laugh it off. Now had this been a basketball game?

I'm probably at Best Buy in the morning, buying a new TV.

There's a difference in cheering---and caring.

That’s my point though. If IU football had been 70% as competitive as the basketball program had been when you were growing up, you would be a diehard IU football fan. However, since they’ve always been bad/mediocre you become accustomed into becoming apathetic to the program as a whole. I get it, I really do. I don’t think it should be viewed negatively towards IU fans, it just is what it is.

Agreed. If we lost to an inferior team in basketball I would be fuming right now.

Who's your team?

I mean, sure. But basketball has always been King. Would be even IF IU football was somewhat good. Or competitive. I would still care more for basketball, even if IU was winning 6-7 games a year, and going to Bowls. I mean of course the interest would be different. But I mean shit that's like telling a Kansas fan they'd care more for football, if their football team was better. I mean----duh.
And, well not to be a smart ass Otte, but you present this as if Purdue's been , well, good. Sure they had some nice runs under Mollenkopf and Tiller. But thats about it.

IU has been a dominant soccer program. Won 8 national titles. Do you think I'm a diehard IU soccer fan?

I'll give you a hint:

I hate soccer.

Not Purdue. Have no beef with Purdue, but when you have a stud, three average Big Ten players and a bunch of below average Big Ten players then you are looking down the barrel of a borderline NCAA bid....
im not sure we know what kind of players we have, we'll see. disagree with minnesota having a better roster. they lost 11 out of their last 12 games last season with a lot of the same guys they have this year

They lost 11 of 12 with Coffey on the floor? They lost 11 of 12 with Curry on the court? No, they were both injured. Plus they bring in a top 50 kid.

Let's roll through the roster. I would take a duo of Murph/Coffey over anyone you want to pair with Edwards. Washington is better than whatever Purdue wants to claim as their third best. Curry on par with your fourth. Dupree better than Cline. Their freshmen recruits are better than your side.

I understand you folks have some fantasy that CE is a reincarnation of Big Dog, but that just is not true. Good luck with open shots when nobody collapses on Haarms or Eastern throwing up bricks.

haha why are you so angry? i said a lot of the same guys, which is true, chill. Murphy's a great player, but I pair Carsen with Haarms/Boudreaux, I'm taking them over Murphy and Coffey. Coffey is soft IMO. Washington shot 42 percent from the floor and 24 percent from 3. He also turned it over quite a bit. Curry is coming off an injury so who knows with him. McBreyer shot 35 percent from the floor as a guard. That's awful. But yeah, our roster isn't great and I don't disagree that we'll probably be a bubble team or a few spots inside it this year. I think Boudreaux's going to be good. I'll take my chances with Carsen and our complementary guys over Minnesota. Want to put a bet on it?

Edit: Washington actually was 36 percent from the floor. Yeesh.

I said in a previous post within the last two hours that Purdue will sneak into the NCAA and Minnesota will be in the NIT because Matt Painter is good for a two game advantage over Dick Pitino.

So I wouldn't bet on Minnesota being ahead of Purdue. Doesn't mean I would take Purdue's roster over Minnesota if I had one constant in a coach.
