*Official* B1G Off-season Thread

That's worse attendance than what Illinois puts out.
I visited Memorial Stadium for the first time a couple weeks ago and the crowd was pretty decent until the end of the 3rd. Homecoming played a part in that I assume.

I’ll sit back and wait for you to show me the posts where I claimed he was MJ.
You essentially were. You were acting like he's a player that is never going to get shut down. Now, shut down is a subjective term. Undoubtedly, he is never going to get completely shut down and score zero points. But he will likely get shut down by teams (more than once, if I had to guess) this year. That can mean eight points on a ton of shots or something like that. But nobody is saying he's going to get zero points. You were acting as if shutting him down wasn't possible which is why people made fun of you.

And it was in the 4th quarter of a game that IU still had a chance to win against a perennial power. Wow.
Good thing we're not known for being a football powerhouse. Not sure anyone is surprised by this given we're down by double digits with less than 2 mins to go. Wow. LOL!

Just an FYI since you probably aren't aware. IU scored and recovered the onside kick and had a chance to win with just under a minute to go.

Yeah, one half being decent is pretty normal. HC did help out though. Where did you sit?

Yeah this bothers less people than they think, especially on a basketball board. Hell most IU fans were pulling for Purdue that night.

Yup. Get that. Watched it. However, not sure I would have stayed until the end considering we were down by double digits with 2 mins to go. Typically those games don't work out in our favor. Showing the crowd at that point doesn't tell anyone anything. But I'm glad you were shocked.

I wasn’t shocked. That’s what happens when you hire a high school football coach. Can’t expect much fan support.

ok we're close enough to the season, let's go with lineups and key bench guys.

Purdue Starters:
Eastern
Carsen
Cline
Eifert
Haarms

Key Bench:
Boudreax - 4/5
Hunter - 1/2/3
Wheeler - 4
Sasha - 2/3

Deep Bench with potential to redshirt:
Williams - 5
Dowuona - 5

I expect Purdue's starting lineup to change quite a bit this season, and for the minute breakdown to fluctuate like crazy as the year goes on. I think there will be games where we go small with Boudreaux at the 5 for extended minutes, and others where Haarms plays 30+ minutes.

Another oddity: I expect Boudreaux to come off the bench (to start the season, not sure how long that'll last) and be our second leading scorer.

Looks like we're going to share ball handling duties. My guess is that Eastern will start the game as primary ball handler (similar in role to Octeus a couple years ago), but down the stretch, you'll see Carsen take over (similar to the end of last season). Hunter will also bring it up some, while also playing off-ball.

With Wheeler, I expect at most an Isiaiah Livers type role in limited minutes -- defense and the occasional 3. It sounds like Eifert has beat him out.

I root for Indiana football that is it. College football isn't my thing. I will watch certain big games and Indiana games and that is about it. Probably part of the struggle of being an Indiana fan.

With that said I was rooting for Purdue the other night. Great story against Ohio State and I like Brohm. Just the perfect storm.

Starters

Isaiah Washington
Dupree McBrayer
Amir Coffey
Jordan Murphy
Daniel Oturu

Key Bench Guys

Gabe Kalscheur- 2
Brock Stull- 2/3
Michael Hurt- 3
Eric Curry- 4/5

We don't have a true backup PG, so Amir Coffey will likely take over that role when Washington is out of the game. McBrayer will probably play a little bit of PG as well.

think they'll go with any Murphy at the 5?

Illinois
Ayo Dosunmu
Trent Frazier
DaMonte Williams
Kipper Nichols
Giorgi Bezhanishvili

Bench
Andres Feliz
Tevian Jones
Aaron Jordan
Samba Kane

I think once Adonis De La Rosa is completely healthy, he may supplant Giorgi. Feliz might be hard to not start from all pre-season reports, but I think for balance he will come off of the bench. Too bad this team doesn't have a serviceable big man or two because we have 3-4 good guards and wings.

Looks like another missed tournament for your new coach

What will Purdue fans here use as their excuse when Edwards doesn’t average 23ppg?

I’m sure they will just post pictures of Indiana’s football field or something.
Man, your troll game is getting really weak. Did you come up with that while you were giving Mr. Murphy in room 319 a sponge bath?
