Lololol ran your fvcking mouth all off season talking about ducking some inferior ass program only to win your big ten title in an even worse way . Backing into the luckiest title ever in the history of the Big Ten

laughable absolutely hilarious

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 ahahahahhahahahahah
You think winning a big ten title by winning the most games is an inferior way to not playing games and winning on a stipulation? GOO_TAKE_A_LAP.

Tennessee was better than any team Illinois beat last year and now they mock them 🤣🤣

Shitbag program discounting a Sweet 16 when they haven’t been there since my first year out of high school . No team was playing better than Tennessee at the end of the year and Michigan beat that ass . If only we played the power house of an injured Houston team 😂

No only winning the title because another team lost at home the last game of the year to the worst team in the history of our conference equates to BACKING INTO SOMETHING and being Highly inferior

17-15 isn't something you can just overlook because you beat Colorado St and Tennessee though.

Would you be happier if we scheduled two cupcakes instead of Arizona and North Carolina and went 19-13 and beat Colorado St. and Tennessee?

Beating Colorado St. (6 seed) and Tennessee (3 seed) to reach the second weekend in a down year is cool.

"Moving forward"

We'll see. Juwan keeps shitting the bed and then you end up the Big Ten's version of Memphis.

Big Ten Ten teams to make it past the round of 32 since Juwan was hired:
Michigan
Michigan again
Purdue

that's it. That's the list. If Juwan is shitting down his leg then the rest of Big Ten is swimming in it.

But you were the projection kings prior to the season. Just like Illinois. I'll let you two argue who is the projection king this off-season. Meanwhile, the rest of the conference will just **** around and find out.

Shit happens. Not being as good as expected does not mean we still didn't make it further in the postseason than 12 of 13 other Big Ten teams. A disappointing season for us is something Brad Davison has never accomplished and Illinois hasn't done in 16 seasons.

Because it's the last game of the season that matters why? GOO_WAL-VERINES

It probably would've been smarter than losing a game

Juwan Howard inherited a program from one of the best coaches in recent history and has 1 season with less than 12 losses. Measuring an entire season based on 2 wins in the post-season is stupid.

I've said it year after year. I understand why fans want to do it, but 2 wins in a single elim is just as much luck as anything else.

NCAA tournament wins since Michigan hired Howard:

Howard 5
Painter 2
Gard 2
Underwood 2
Izzo 1

I'm glad Juwan wipes his ass with 4 leaf clovers then.

Illinois wasn’t projected by anyone to win the big ten. Well except by me and other Illinois fans.

Maybe you should take notes.

Rebuilt a program from the dredges into the winningest program in the Big Ten over the past 3 seasons by 5 games, upped the recruiting to a consistent top 25 (and top 10 this year) program. I guess positioning yourself as one of the top 2 programs in the conference isn't that impressive anymore?

You'd trade Woodson and Miller's past 5 years for Underwood. An outsider would laugh at this argument. I am laughing as well.
The first paragraph literally described Creans first 5-6 years at Indiana.

Illinois in the last 3 years has….

The most wins in Conference.

T-2nd in tourney wins with Gard and Painter. Behind only Howard.

And is in position at the very top alongside Michigan as the team with the brightest future.

Maybe the rest of the Big Ten will catch up, but I doubt it. And we are doing this all with a poor man’s Tom Crean. What a testament to the state of Illinois basketball

Speaking of catch up. Brett is hungry for a hot dog.

Uh, cool. His first 5-6 years were pretty good. There are a ton of really good coaches that run their programs like that. The great ones sustain. Crean didn't. This is a moronic argument.

How do we know which one Underwood is?

How do we know which one Underwood is?
Probably the fact he’s won everywhere he’s been and changed his system to fit his rosters multiple times, and again analytics. He was a top 10 coach in second half adjustments. Just because IU coaches keep letting you down does not mean Underwood will be bad.

Who is on Michigans short list after Howard goes to LA?

I'm sure he is and Crean continued to recruit well until his final years. I've just not seen a coach propped up so much that has done so little. I mean without Wisconsin choking this year and backing into a share of the title what has he really done?
Huh? Illinois was SO BAD when he got here. And they have the best winning pctg. in the league over the last 3 years … 60% of his tenure. Either Illinois is the best job in the B1G by a mile and a half, or the guy has done an amazing turnaround job. Not sure how you can have it both ways?

Again, the standard to judge his coaching chops against isn’t Tom Izzo or John Belein … it’s John Groce. Because that’s the hand he was dealt. He turned shit into silver, and you’re unimpressed he hasn’t yet created gold?

Jesus Christ. Wanna go audit every league title ever? Can we be sure the 1983 champs didn’t BACK INTO IT?? You’re the only pussies to win one by literally not playing as many games as everyone else, kid. And that isn’t subjective.

Congrats on the Sweet Sixteen, though. Would have loved one! However, what I really would have loved was a Final Four. Second Round vs. Sweet Sixteen seemed negligible to me until I posted on the Rivals national message board, lol… Now I know it’s an epic hurdle.

A second round loss means going home the first weekend. A Sweet 16 means making it to the second weekend of the tournament. That’s fun to do.

This whole “making a Sweet 16 is irrelevant” stuff seems to come from fans of teams who choke year after year in march. Maybe try making one sometime?

It’s like a dude who never gets knob-jobs anymore talking about how he doesn’t care because they are overrated.
