That’s where Archie Miller is doing it right. Potential 11-14 against Nebraska and then Iowa and then Illinois.

I personally like that set up vs playing Ohio State or Michigan in the second round

I like have the chance to get your legs and get comfortable on Wednesday. How many times do you see Wednesday teams make a little run. I also don’t like the chance of losing to Nebraska. That could royally screw IU if they lose against Wisconsin.

The risk is certainly higher than the reward in that scenario.

I really don't want Purdue to play UM a third time, but it looks like that's going to be the path if they are going to get an at-large berth.

Sht match up, but that’s what the team brought onto themselves by blowing those early non-conference games.

Edit: Plus Nebraska

Wouldn't doing it right be more like not finishing in 11th place?

You mean like finishing in 8th place and just being the 11th seed? It was a joke, but even with an extra game I would much rather face Nebraska then Iowa instead of playing Ohio State or Michigan first.

Not sure 8th is doing it right either. To each their own. ;)

The NCAA committee is screwing the big ten because we beat each other up.
I’m sorry but MSU is a 2 seed. Maryland a 2 or 3. PSU/Illinois/Wisky should be top 4 seeds.

Having all these big ten teams having to go around the country playing top 4 seeds in their backyard in the second round is insane

5 seed is better than 4 seed in BTT
Give me a game against a 12/13 seed. Pad the Ws

They’ve not even picked anything yet. Carson Edwards to Lurch calm down with hand slap gif

We always seem unable to defend Simpson. Like please go under screens against him for once.

We've played them twice. Went over screens and he killed us, went under screens and he killed us. Looks like we are likely to get him a 3rd time. Not excited.

Is IU really "in" ahead of Rutgers? I don't get that. We've played on Wednesday in the B1G tourney a bunch, I always thought that was the day the crappy teams play, no?

That win against a 12/13 seed will do nothing for a resume. The loss against a 12/13 seed would harm a resume. There is nothing to gain resume wise by beating a 12//13 seed. Nothing.

IU really is in over Rutgers at this time. Difference being zero bad losses and didn't play 303rd NCSOS and didn't play a D2 school called Caldwell in December.

I think it could help in isolated cases. Take Purdue for instance, the underlying numbers are there to be in except for the raw wins.

I guess you're right. Just thought the 21 spot delta between us in NET and the fact you play on Wednesday and we dont in the B1G tourney would make more of a difference. Seems I'm wrong as I see you guys in more "solidly" than us right now.

For a team like Illinois, which is who he is talking about, it would do nothing positive to the resume.

The NET is very weird. One thing no one knows is exactly how much this committee will look at the NET. Indiana has one outlier in all the computer rankings and it is the NET. They are firmly in the field based on their resume and other metric rankings right this second. That is why the better ranked bracketolgists have IU as a 9 seed right now and Lunardi who sucks has them as last four in (I also believe clicks serve a purpose for ESPN as well)

With that said Lunardi could be able to put up a middle finger to everyone if the committee uses the NET as the rule.

Everything I see shows it close but IU slightly ahead. I think both get in.

13 teams in the Big10 did, because of Wisconsin. Shitty teams at the top of the league paints a bad image on the league.

Because the top teams aren't just racking up wins vs mediocre to bad teams. The parity is nuts.

Yeah he's just a really savvy player that finds ways to exploit you. We have really struggled with him.

I’d imagine that metrics would be a net positive gain with a win over a Big Ten team on a neutral court, even if the gain is small.

A neutral win against the nerds or nubs doesn’t help anyone. Both are so bad. A neutral win against Minnesota probably doesn’t hurt. A neutral win against IU doesn’t help. Minnesota is the only current Q1 neutral win out of those 4.

Disagree. It gets us a shot at better seeding. A win is a win.

A win vs Minnesota is still valuable. Then we’d get a shot at the 4 seed for even more of a booster. Better than just beating a 5 seed. And definitely better than losing to a 5 seed.

For example beating Minnesota AND Iowa is better than beating just Iowa and losing the next game. And definitely better than just losing to Iowa. Wouldn’t you agree?
