***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

This is why the NET is trash

“Penn State has more Quad 1 wins (seven) than Duke has played Quad 1 games (five), the two have the same number of Quad 2 wins (five), Penn State has zero Quad 3 and 4 losses while Duke has 1 Quad 3 and 4 loss. Duke is No. 6, Penn State is No. 18.”

No, that’s more about why just looking at quads is trash. All quad 1 wins aren’t equal.

Okie, doke. IU beat MSU, TWICE last year. Beat Louisville, Marquette and Wisconsin. That is 5 wins over Top 30 Net Ranking teams....Four Top 30 KenPom wins...Add in Penn State, and it makes 6 wins vs Top 50 Net teans, and Four Top 40 KenPom wins.

IU had 6 Quad 1 wins....3 Quad 2 wins. Had they squeezed out close losses to Purdue and OSU at home...Or @ Iowa on the road---ONE more WIN---They would've been in. Even after that, had they beaten OSU in the BTT---they were in. ONE more WIN.

But they didn't. 17 wins. ONE more-----They are in.

Wins are a ton more important than you think. Like I said, I'll take 16 wins right now, over 14.
Yup. This.

I am 100% an IU alum, Indiana native, Gen Xer (I think), top few percent income in the US, and Bernie Sanders supporter.

Are you a Bernie supporter because you actually think free everything is sustainable or because he’s the best of a group of really bad democratic candidates?

You also lost 12 out of 13 games. That didn’t help. Lmfaooo

Not necessarily. A team with 18 wins against a better schedule might get in over a team with 20 wins against a bad schedule.
I don't disagree. But that usually happens when its a mid-major vs a P5----Not P5 vs P5. Had IU beaten OSU in the BTT, they were in---Bad metrics and all. With 18 wins. They didn't. Still had 6 Quad 1 wins....3 Quad 2. Did them no good. But, had they beten OSU........

It happens with P5 teams plenty and you’ll see it this year when Big Ten teams get in over ACC and SEC teams with more wins.

6 of our 7 are against top 25 kenpom/NET teams. No complaints here.

Yeah. Using Quad wins is okay but you also need to look at overall metrics (Kenpom, NET, Sagarin).

Team A: 5-0 at home vs #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Team B: 5-0 at home vs #26, 27, 28, 29, and 30.

If we just use Quad wins then their resumes would look identical (5-0 in Quad 1 games) despite Team A having way better quality wins.

Its not free everything duh. You redneck reds remind me of that all the time. I was born fortunate with a large ability to retain information and learn from it, far more than the average person. I was priveledged. Growing up in NWI in a working class town, I knew enough people that weren't as priveledged we'll say. I know a lot of people who work just as hard or harder than me that avoid the doctor because of money, can only afford to send their kids to average to below average schools, etc. According to the latest estimates, if you take what I currently pay into health insurance, "employer provided" I would pay double under the Sanders plan. Other people I know, just making it pay check to paycheck, would pay drastically less or nothing. I'd rather pay double than see one more gofundme because their "employer provided" insurance sucks, if they have any at all. Now apply that same logic to education, safety, environment, etc.

There are many flavors of socialism and capitalism. I don't make blanket statements on either. I'm not for authoritarian capitalism or socialism.

This is just about the worst place in the world to have a political debate so I won't respond to anything political here after this, but you asked so I'll give it one shot for a host of extremely complicated issues that there's no way we can talk through. And especially not civilly here.

It’s free a lot of stuff. And that won’t work.

Redneck reds is tongue in cheek, after being called a lib**** or other weird derogatory nickname enough.

Should we put an apb out on @dragonhawk1855 and also possibly @KisteK
no need just lost use of my computer has it crashed, son talked me into using Chrome and all hell broke out. had to take it to the geek squad @ Best buy to fix it.

gee did I call in the Indiana vs Iowa. they just don't have much success in Assembly Hall going back multiple decades,.

lack of defense had nothing to do with it. it was lack of healthy bodies as Iowa is now down 3 starters and are now going to have to rely on WALK ON'S to come off the bench.

in Fredrick they lost their 3rd leading scorer, their best 3 point shooter and one of the best 3 point shooters in the BT. Fredrick was the best perimeter defenders on the team. not bad for a FR.

I think we finally found some common ground haha.
Finally! Lol. Kidding.

Yeah man. I may not like some of the democrat policies proposed by people like Hilldog, Bloomberg or Klobuchar, but at least they’re not dumb enough to go full socialism.

People who are supporting Sanders are either not that intelligent or at worst lying to themselves thinking actual socialism will work when it never has in the history of the world.

when I look at who will rejoin the team for the 20-21 season
7'0 Nunge as a starter in his FR season he did this
15.7 mpg
5.7 ppg 5th on the team in scoring
2.8 rpg
25 total blocks 2nd on the team
21 steals T 3rd on the team
when he returns he could play 25 mpg at the 4 or 5 giving Garza the relief he needs,

Jordan @ 100% after playing hurt the last 3 seasons, 1st a foot injury trhen back to back hip surgeries, where nobody has seen him play healthy.
as a FR he was #2 in steals, even injured his defense was there.

Fredrick has done this
28.1 mpg
10.7 ppg 3rd on the team
2.0 rpg
2.6 apg
49.7 % from the field
78.6% from the FTL
46.7% from 3
17 steals
in 22 games

adding these 3 will improve the defense. not to mention open up the interior for Garza,

enjoy Iowa's struggle playing short handed as it won't be like this in the future. oh one more note this was the starting 5
FR Toussaint
RSFR Fredrick
SO Wieskamp
RSSO Connor
JR Garza.
not one single SR starter to step up as the leader like these in the past
PG Gesell
SG Jok
F Uthoff
G Marble
F White

next season these will be the SR's that will step in
Garza 1st Team AA
Jordan 3rd team All BT coming off his JR season
Wieskamp 2nd Team All BT at best and 3rd Team All BT at worst this season. this will be the best team in Fran's tenure, '

so yuck it up, trash these players till you gag on it.

Awarding Cowan 3 free throws for that is beyond an abortion. Oh look MSU getting the short end of the whistle at home, again, in a big game.

Like I always say only premier major conference program that consistently gets a bad whistle at home
