*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

He hasn't released this year's predictions yet other than to say that he's perplexed that IU is currently being talked about as a bubble team by some.

That's not what I'm asking for. We're talking about Indiana making or not making the tournament. You mentioned that someone said they won't be making the tournament, and used his ability to pick teams (in prior years) who won't win the Championship as his credibility. If you want people to take his prediction seriously, we would need to see his ability to pick which teams make the tournament. Prior years is OK. You can't tell me to trust your trigonometry skills and then show me your history with algebra.

Who do a really good job

Even if thats true, past students have done a really good job. Its like saying Iowa is good this year because years ago they had really good players. Theyre one man who is ahead of a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds. Lets just be honest, they arent the authority on anything other than study hall.

And that man is a self admitted huge iu fan

Bring on the ILLINI. Iowa and IL use to have a great rivalry. It's faded a bit since Iowa went in the tank then the ILLINI did.

By the way @klize17 , Im in the camp that thinks iu is in with a win today. Not trying to troll youm. Just telling you delphi is a group of high school students so using them is silly.

Are you trying to say that me breaking down a bracketology high school club for you is somehow more trash than the typical trollfest of rivals (iu-pu) that goes on? It feels like youre mad that I pointed out your authority is a bunch of kids.

Nah. It feels like you're implying that a group of high school kids are incapable of being good at bracketology.

Damnit, I hate agreeing with IU fans. But you and Klize are right. His dismissal of them is way off base.

Wrong. What about Moore, Swanigan, Johnson, Eastern, etc.? You forget about those guys? His point still stands. Beilein isn't dealing with a ton of Top 10 type guys. I think you just need to face the facts that Beilein and Izzo are better all around coaches and Painter isn't on their level. The overwhelming majority of college basketball fans would agree.
Oh, so now you speak for "most fans". That's cool.

Look, I think MOST fans would give Painter more credit than you are. You act like I'm trying to claim Painter is better than Beilein. I'm not. I just don't think they are quite as far apart as you do and I believe results on the floor display that. Painter has had bad luck in the NCAA tourney. Major injuries to all of his best teams. That's one reason I look at head to head results. Yes, Beilein has had a lot of good guys leave early and he deserves credit for that. When's the last time he took a team full of 3* guys and won 30 games? Painter deserves more credit than you give him. That's really been my point all along. I don't think he's better than the other two coaches. Hell I don't think he's as good at this moment. But I absolutely don't think he's as far off from them as you claim.

When has Painter taken a team full of three stars and won 30 games? Here’s a hint. Never happened. He’s always had four star guys on his team. And you keep acting like Izzo and Beilein are chalk full of five star guys when it’s been proven that isn’t the case. It’s like a crutch for you to hold up your hopes that it may level the playing field for Painter. Here’s another hint. Recruiting is part of coaching. And Painter has never had a team of just three star players. No need to lie.

Again, not sure I can make this more clear, most rational non biased college basketball fans would take Izzo and Beilein over Painter in a heart beat. It’s not even a debate. It’s not close no matter how much you really really hope it is. As I’ve said numerous times, that doesn’t make Painter a bad coach. I’m fine with him being third in the B10 at this point.

Showing me this would be like me showing you last years big ten standings of 15-3 ohio state to make a point. You dont seem to grasp the concept that this is a group of high school kids, lead by one iu fan adult, who graduates and changes every year.
Go home MJ18. Let the big kids talk hoops here.

Here is the supposed authority on bracketology. Lol.

(If you look closely the one kid is watching bangbus porn on his laptop)

Snu0821 seems like a humongous dumbass. Dont ever argue with humongous dumbasses, just ignore them, otherwise you become a humongous dumbass yourself.

How many accounts is this for you now? Your posts are still AIDS.

Oh, and I believe the humongous dumbass is the idiot who is suggesting that high school kids can't be good at bracketology.

I'm not sure who Kevin is but its on. The rest of you losers that took Butgers, thats what you get.

Thought I had signed up for this and somehow didnt now that I checked again. Wtf? Ill just tell you who I would have picked after the games. I had Illinois and Nebraska.

I know we all pick on Iowa, but I'm really struggling to remember a team considered a "lock" for the tournament ending the season like this. Mabye Northestern in '17?
I actually fear for Gil's safety if Iowa indeed loses two more in a row. He would likely go (further) off the deep end. Maybe we all should start rooting for Iowa knowing we're likely saving Gil.

like Michigan is full of 3* players, that Bielien took to these FF's.

Whatever this means, join your dumbass buddy on my ignore list. Feels great knowing I dont have to sift thru arguments about iu-pu from the two village dumbasses anymore. Quote this if youre a dumbass.

Nope. It wasn't full of three star players. However, it wasn't chalk full of five star players either. He had a mix of three and four star players and maybe one five star?

@hailtoyourvictor - can you set the record straight for us, again? Some Purdue fans are acting like Beilein has had nothing but five star players every single year and that's the only reason he's had success.

I never said he only had 3 star guys. When I say full of, I'm saying the vast majority are. V. Edwards, Mathias, Cline, Thompson, Haarms, Taylor all 3 star guys from last years team. C. Edwards, Haas and Eastern were the only 4 star guys. Eastern didn't contribute much either. Then there's Sasha and Wheeler, also 3 star guys. Out of 11 guys, 3 were 4 star guys. Then you have a walk on getting significant minutes too. So again, when's the last time the other two have taken a team full of 3 star guys and won 30 games?

YOU might feel like I'm saying those other two are full of 5 star guys, but I've literally never said that. They are mostly 4 star players. Painter gets some 4 star guys, but the majority have pretty much always been 3 star guys.
