I have no issue with him siding with Izzo/Beilein in regards to post-season coaching. The results are what they are. But context matters and Painter has had some things go against him in his career that's all I'm saying.
Oh, context matters now? Weird. You constantly throw out sh*t posts here purposefully ignoring context. Funny to see you crying for people to all of a sudden consider "context" when looking at Painters coaching record.

I agree. But the point still remains that Izzo has the hardware. So "based on results" - Izzo gets the nod.

And the "Izzo has years on him" comment doesn't particularly work, as Beilein is older and has been a head coach longer than Izzo has.

On recent results (ie. since Beilien turned the program around) I don't think it's clear that Izzo gets the nod. It's close.

Dude, we are talking strictly Big 10. Jesus Gillgan

And I've already pointed out that Izzo has more results, even only including results since Beilein joined the B1G. So you moved the goal posts to "Beilein needed a few years after he took over", which is fine. But results are results.

Even if you want to start in 2012 (4 years after Beilein started at UM, plenty of time to get "his" guys) - Izzo has more B1G regular season titles, more BTT titles, and more NCAAT appearances.

Beilein has 1 more Final Four than Izzo, during that 2012-present stretch. Izzo is 9-7 vs. Beilein head to head since 2012.

2012-present: Izzo has 12 NCAAT wins
2012-present: Beilein has 15 NCAAT wins

None of this a knock on Beilein at all. He's a great coach. You could make arguments for either coach, and Beilein's run to the title game last year made up a lot of ground. Especially since Izzo's last few years have been subpar for MSU standards.

With a year the conference is as strong as it is and playing 2 extra conference games will be interesting to see how the committee figures that in.

Made up numbers...

Just looked and its crazy Izzo only has one final four in the last 9 years. Its like knocking Cal for not getting enough championships with all the final 4s but its a knock on him nonetheless.

I believe its the reason that IU is in the position they are currently in. Its also why the other major conference will do it.

Compare IUs SOS to others, that is a direct reflection of playing two more conference opponents.

Izzo had a great start after a couple years of being average, no doubt. Not denying that. And he is very consistent.

It's like comparing apples and oranges though. Both are very good. With a slight edge to Izzo. But that gap seems to be closing.

Kaleb Wesson is back for the BTT. He’s the heart and soul of the team. Coming off a big Iowa win things looked promising. Then the suspension and horrible play. Coming back from 23 points down to take Wisconsin to OT gave the team some life. What will happen against a very hot Indiana team? Not sure what will happen but I like our chances a lot more today. He has been working hard and practicing with the team since suspended, so he should be in playing shape.

I'm sure he got his lungs back.

7 of the top 10 are B1G teams. Its undeniable.

Big Ten regular season titles: Izzo 3, Beilein 2
Big Ten tournament titles: Izzo 3, Beilein 2
Elite Eights: Izzo 2, Beilein 3
Final Fours: Izzo 1, Beilein 2
National Championship game appearances: Izzo 0, Beilein 2

Pretty even since then.

Potential bid theft at 7PM today. UNC-Greensboro plays Wofford with the SoCon title on the line.

I'm guessing Minny, IU and OSU fans are big Wofford fans tonight because they are definitely dancing regardless of if they win or not.
