*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

3 of those losses in the BT were to CoChampions Purdue and MSU. also 3 came to MD and Wisconsin, that make 6 of Iowa's 10 losses,

as for the OOC you ingnore the fact that Wisconsin played and beat Savanah State the week before they played Iowa. this was your murderers row of OOC

Coppin State
Grambling
Savanah State
Western Kentucky

these were the top games for Iowa
Oregon when they were ranked #13 with a pair of 5* players
UConn
ACC/BT Pitt
ISU top 20 by Ken porn
UNI part of the Big 4 instate tourney which came to a end. but there is a state legislator that has submitted a bill requiring both ISU and Iowa to play both UNI and Drake EVERY YEAR.
Iowa won the Y2 Classic championship and Garza was named the events MVP

Finishing .500 in the BT was better than 8 other BT teams did. considering 10 BT teams were picked to be in the NCAAT while Iowa was picked to finish 10th or worse in the BT.

So you list our worst OOC games and your best? LOL. Why don't you put our best games up there too. Everybody plays shit teams.

Dont talk shit about Coppin State.

You're just a half-slappy for Michigan. We've already been through this before, debating MSU and UM.

Does Beilein's Elite 8 at West Virginia not count, since he wasn't coaching in the B1G yet?

No. WV is no Michigan. Dont go full ****** man. If both were the same age, it woukd be very close.

Be objective. At this pace, Izzo has him because of age and years in the league.

And no one gives a fvck about ur 02' Natty when you were still shitting ur pants and watching Cartoon Network.

Uh, that National Championship means a hell of a lot more than anything Purdue has done this year, last year, or all of it's history. I get it though. Your school hasn't won one, so you don't understand.

I'm more than happy to have the third-best coach in a league that features two HOFers.

He was 5th before Thad Matta and Bo Ryan left. If he sticks around long enough for Izzo and Beilein to retire you guys might end up with the best coach in the conference.

But for now, it's weird to see Purdue fans so invested in defending him when someone says he is a tier below Izzo/Beilein.

Maryland most recent National Championship: 2002

Purdue most recent Sweet 16 win: 2000

Purdue's last Elite 8 was 19 years ago. Aren't you in your early 20s? Do you even remember Purdue's last Elite 8?

No? Hail. That's not the point. Maryland has been just about as relevant as Purdue has in the last 15 years. That's my point.

You're a certified slap.

Who has more B1G regular season titles since 2008?
Final Fours since 2008?
Elite 8's since 2008?
BTT titles since 2008?
Sweet 16's since 2008?
NCAAT appearances since 2008?

Those should be pretty objective numbers.

I think that anything that happened in 2002 no one gives a fvck about. Just like no one gives fvck that IU won a national championship in 1987 besides IU fans.

Who has played for more titles since 08? Also, you have to give him a couple years. UM was trash and needed to be rebuilt. MSU was in a much better position when Izzo took over.

Yeah... synergy stats are the same stats that tried to say that Purdue ran zone almost 20% of the time a year or so ago. Anything that gets stats THAT wrong isn't worth two shits. Maybe it is a good service, but anyone that knows anything about Purdue knows that we NEVER run zone.
Synergy is one of the most reliable, reputable stats sources there are. Teams pay a shit ton of money for their analytics.

Edit: Went ahead an nipped this in the bud. Since 08/09 here are the possessions that Synergy claims you played zone:

Zone - Total - Percentage
7 - 2410 - 0.29
66 - 2,738.00 - 2.41
33 - 2495 - 1.32
34 - 2577 - 1.32
21 - 2586 - 0.81
16 - 2539 - 0.63
171 - 2596 - 6.59
1 - 2708 - 0.04
3 - 2501 - 0.12
0 - 2889 - 0.00
3 - 2307 - 0.13

I don't think that's a very fair comparison. Beilein walked into a program that hadn't made the NCAA Tournament in 10 years. It took a few years for Beilein to build the program. Lately the two programs have had pretty similar levels of success overall.

Incorrect. Recruits constantly mention IU's championships, it's history and being a blue blood. So, again, you're wrong. I get it though. You don't want to believe it. You've never won a National Championship. You don't understand.

Then maybe you could see why SNU would side with Izzo/Beilein when talking about postseason coaching.
I have no issue with him siding with Izzo/Beilein in regards to post-season coaching. The results are what they are. But context matters and Painter has had some things go against him in his career that's all I'm saying.

I'm taking Izzo or Beilein when it comes to regular season coaching as well, not just post season.
We know dude. You wouldn't let anyone with a Purdue degree even touch you. We get it. You despise anything Purdue. We. Get. It.

2 things are certain: Frans teams collapse at the end of the season and Purdue shits the bed in March.

Facts.

I agree. But the point still remains that Izzo has the hardware. So "based on results" - Izzo gets the nod.

And the "Izzo has years on him" comment doesn't particularly work, as Beilein is older and has been a head coach longer than Izzo has.

Dude, we are talking strictly Big 10. Jesus Gillgan

This will be the team Painter takes deep. It was like the Caps last year. It was probably there worst team in recent years and they finally got over the hump.

You could be right. But one game of Carson going 4 for 31 or something and They Gone.
