I have come to grips with that I will never see an Iowa team in the sweet 16. If they do that’s great. I’ve been through the Lickliter years. I’m willing to take the chance that it gets that bad again for the chance to move the program forward. It’s stuck and not getting better. If it gets as bad as Lickliter I won’t watch. That’s fine.

Everybody plays against someone on their senior day. Iowa just has a terrible defense, and let a guy shoot and make 7(!) threes.

We already had 6th place locked in heading into today. We did a decent job playing basketball no more than 4 weeks ago. It's all so familiar. Back then, we were talking about maybe splitting against the rest of the schedule because sweeping would be getting greedy given some of our fluky wins. Maybe get a 5/6 seed. Now they're going to consider putting us in Dayton to just to screw with our heads more. "Who hates Iowa? @Deathclutch" God, for some reason.

I prefer making fun of the team Iowa beat twice and that certain of your fans need to make excuses for why you lost.
And do you know why I can?
Because I don't give a single f*** how Iowa does as far as it pertains to making fun of your team. You do care about how your team does, and that's the difference. I don't need my team to be good, to troll successfully.

I don’t want to get in a back and forth with you, but every team plays against teams on senior nights. Purdue just played two in a row too. It’s not uncommon.

1) Gil makes it really easy to root against Iowa.
2) When you have by far the worst defense in the conference, it makes it easy for your opponent to play well

I'm insane and locked up inside for large portions of the winter sometimes. I'm professionally an underwriter and personally an Iowa sports fan and drunk loudmouth. Talk to people from Baltimore on the phone all the time. Funny accent, like Philadelphia except you really shouldn't talk smack to people from Bmore. I'm currently switching ISPs and VPN services because I made a big mistake bringing it up.

I’ve been to Baltimore several times for conferences and meetings with investment management firms like Legg Mason and T. Rowe. It’s actually not that bad. There just is a huge dichotomy between the haves and have nots, similar to many cities. There are certainly some very nice areas and obviously some terrible ones. Reminded me a lot of St. Louis.

It's actually all true. I watched The Wire after I downloaded it illegally on my college laptop. I had a late night parking ramp cashier job in Iowa City (work-study). I had a dugout and a regular weed connection. I would pick late night shifts at non-busy ramps and do drugs by myself, listen to radio, attempt connection to the local building's WiFi network, do the daily crosswords. Fast forward a few years and I have access to documents about how business is conducted in Baltimore (death certificates, deeds, divorce decrees - Iowa grad English minor with the alliteration). I have the same access to documents for all other parts of the country, but Baltimore actually does stick out. And boy does it irk me when bMORE talks appropriate smack about our bball team.
Edit to add: My lazy employee/crime confessions were from a time slightly prior to UMD joining the conference. And I hope there's a statue of limitations. I'm not hard to find.
