*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

I wasn’t here for the Elston play you guys are referencing but are people trying to insinuate that Carsen was intentionally hurting Law? Like seriously or just trolling? I can’t tell.

Clearly trolling.

Nah. Just typical to hear crickets from Purdue fans. If it were an MSU or IU player that did this, y’all would have been crying about it non stop. Not surprised to see you all think it’s perfectly fine.
Lol dude GTFO. Wow. What a lame take. I’m sure Carsen sacrificed his shin in order to harm Vic Law when Purdue had a firm grasp on the game. God damn what a lame take.

Bossi: Earlier this year I was watching Maryland and I thought to myself that they could be a Final Four contender in 2020 if

Bruno Fernando
stuck around. It’s looking pretty likely that Fernando will be off to the NBA Draft after this season, so if they are going to make a run with him, it will have to be this year. This year’s NCAA Tournament is going to be wide open and from a pure talent standpoint, they can hang with some pretty high-level teams. This time of year point guard play is even more important and junior
Anthony Cowan
is pretty good.

Evans: For what it’s worth, no one has paid much attention to Maryland despite their surge up the Big Ten standings. Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue have taken most of the spotlight but the Terps might be the most talented of the bunch. They have an experienced lead guard in Cowan, a talented scoring guard in

Darryl Morsell
, a beast of an interior tandem with Fernando and
Jalen Smith
, along with a slew of freshmen X-factors in
Aaron Wiggins
and
Eric Ayala
. If they can take care of the ball better and shoot it more efficiently, Maryland could be the surprise squad in Minneapolis a few weeks from now.
Problem is the same coach is still there.

I don’t think he was trying to hurt him on purpose, but he definitely took out their best player once NW had cut the lead to 7.

I am as straight up in my commentary on games as anyone here. To try to say that Crasen was trying to trip him is just stupid. He turned inside and reached with his hands to try to cut off the angle. It was an unfortunate result, but no way it was intentional. You can criticize Carsen for a lot of things, but he has never been or ever will play dirty.

Lulz. Yeah, ok man. This is such a Purdue response I can’t stop laughing...

Elston was in the paint guarding his own man, could see everything in front of him, and tripped the other guy as he was running through the lane. Carsen had his back turned to Law and when he turned around he had to react. He injured himself too so I highly doubt it was intentional.

Bottom line, nothing like the Elston play.

You are, for sure, and I appreciate that. We definitely disagree on this one. Clearly a dirty play in my mind. Hell, go read comments on Twitter. Clearly others do too.

Lol. My guess is Carsen likely didn’t even know it was Law until the contact happened. His back was turned to the play.

Lulz. Yeah, ok man. And Elston’s play wasn’t intentional either.

My initial reaction was that it was ambiguous, which is why I replayed it a dozen times while the game was on break. He clearly turned and reached with his hand to try to cut off the angle and help the defender, who was beat. We can agree to disagree.

I mean in all honesty who gives a **** about a trip?

It happens in every sport where the players are in contact with each other

I hope you’re trolling. If not you’re a fvcking moron and I mean that.

How someone can see that and not see Carson stretch further in attempt to trip the guy is beyond me. I pray for you people. Commence you people gif.
