*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

I looked at a few B10 predictions to get an idea of how far people are off from where we stand today.

The average guess of the 6 posters that I found (without looking very hard) is off by 2.07 spots, the standard deviation is 1.95. I don't feel like doing a more in-depth statistical breakdown of how far the guesses are off. Here's the average of how far each person I looked at is off:

@Mgkcbb: 3.36
@Jaycg15: 2.14
@MGC_07: 1.71
@boilerzz: 1.86
@CO_hawk: 1.57
@bMORE607: 1.79

If anyone else wants to see, just link me to your guess.
I don't remember what mine were, I know I had Michigan, MSU 1 and 2

I know I had IU at like 4

This is the only post I found of yours that has any rankings:

Wisconsin at 13? Wow.

Through 1.5 weeks of Basketball, B1G looks MUCH stronger than last year. 12 Teams have legitimate shots at making the tourney... obviously some teams will stumble during the season, but I think it's realistic to think the Big Ten could have 8-9 teams dance this year. Here's my rankings through the early part of the season:

1. Michigan State
2. Michigan
3. Indiana
4. Purdue
5. Nebraska
6. Maryland
7. Wisconsin
8. Minnesota
9. Ohio State
10. Iowa
11. Penn State
12. Northwestern
13. Illinois
14. Rutgers
Purdue a few spots too high but all in all I pretty much agree with this.

Current Ken Pomeroy Rankings thru games played Sunday, 1/6:

4) MSU
5) Michigan
15) Wisconsin
16) Nebraska
17) Purdue
22) Ohio State
27) Indiana
28) Maryland
43) Iowa
48) Minnesota
51) Northwestern
60) Penn St
106) Illinois
115) Rutgers

I don't think anyone is surprised to see @Mgkcbb so far off.

If you're going to blast in here and start posting KenPom rankings.... you need to respect and utilize the spacing.

Should look more like this:

4) MSU

27) Indiana

Wisconsin loses to 8-7 Western Kentucky, (just lost to Old Dominion) lost at home to a mediocre Minnesota team by scoring a whole 52 points, lost to a team that IU beat by 23.

Yet they're 12 spots ahead of us in Kenpom.

makes sense.

Not to mention Nebraska loses to EVERYONE away from home (including Iowa) and they're at 16. Those ratings mean nothing.

Iowa beat #16 Nebraska I guess that shakes things up a bit.

Howe on Hawkeye nation shows his ignorance and hatred for Fran saying a 6 point loss is a complete blow out.

with Garza back to playing the team is playing better perimeter defense. last night Nebraska did their interior damage when both Garza and Cook were on the bench.

hmm Iowa is 9-1 at home and 12-3, Iowa now has 2 wins over 25 teams in kenpom and 2 losses to teams in Kenpom.

2 more wins and they will = last years win total. must suck that they are doing as well as they are.

Your tears are delicious.

Wisky 12-8 (3-1)

New AP Poll is out.

2 Michigan
6 MSU
16 OSU
22 IU
27 Wisky
28 Iowa
29 Minny
30 Purdue
31 Nebraska
32 Maryland

Crazy that 6 straight B1G teams just outside the rankings. That's 10 of the top 32.

Yeah, after UM and MSU there are a bunch of solid teams. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. Going to be a fun couple of months here.

Was hoping Iowa wouldnt drop out with the win against Nebraska. But I think 25-30 is where Iowa should be.

I have OSU as the third best team. They have simply been the most consistent out of all the rest after both MI schools.
