Homer Bailey is no longer a Cincinnati Red for any baseball fans here.

Cardinals are having an awesome offseason so far landing Goldschmidt and signing Andrew Miller today.

Yeah they’re really making a push this offseason. If the reds can find a little more pitching, NL central will be a blood bath.

I’m not sure how I would rank Michigan’s best to worst starter. Iggy and Poole are elite offensively, but Simpson, Matthews, and Teske are some of the best defenders in the country. Really tough. Love seeing Iggy get the hype though.
Still think Romeo and Juwan have an argument but the better team usually wins out unless you put up ridiculous stats.

4th place finish?
The Reds have two of the top prospects in the minor leagues, and they just added Puig and Kemp to Joey Votto and Eugenio Suarez. They also added Alex Wood and the Brewers pitching coach Derek Johnson. Still need another pitcher but I like where things are headed.

Puig, Kemp, and Wood combined for what... 5 WAR? Not even? Decent additions but name value sometimes outweigh production.

Humor me... rank the NL Central for 2018.

Trade doesn’t make a lot of sense unless they are flipping Puig and Kemp. You need Wood to pitch like its 2017 again, but for his career he has been an average pitcher. Didn’t give up much but didn’t get much back. At least they got Homer’s contract off the books.

Kemp will be our fourth outfielder. He will get some at bats against leftys.

Puig hit 28 home runs in Dodger stadium, that accounts for about 35-40 in GABP. He's also a career .280 hitter. He'll start in left field.

Nick Senzel is the 6th ranked prospect in the minors he hit .310 with a .380 OBP in triple A once he was called up. He will start at 2nd base.

Votto will have more protection in the lineup finally so you have to think that will help his numbers. He's already been terrific. He'll be at first base and likely an all star again.

Suarez hit .283 last year with .370 OBP and .530 slugging. He hit 34 home runs and had 104 RBIs on a bad team. Made his first all star team as well last year, he will be at 3rd.

Winker will be in right field, he's only 24 but he hit .300 with a .405 OBP last year.

Peraza is only 24 as well but he hit .288 last year and had 23 stolen bases. He will be at short.

Center field might be occupied by the #17 prospect in the minors, Taylor Trammel depending on what happens with trades.

Wood is only 27 was a solid pitcher for the Dodgers, not great but he is a ground ball pitcher.

I'm not making any predictions until we see what the rosters look like coming into the season. The Reds are still looking to Trade Trammel for Kluber or Bauer. They definitely aren't done yet, either way that looks to be a heck of a lineup.

Is this a joke? It makes perfect sense. They just traded a pitcher that had a 1-14 record and an ERA over 6 that was making $19 million a year. I don't care what you get back, that's a good trade. Puig, Kemp, and Wood are all at the end of their contract, if they don't want to resign them they'll just let them go at the end of the year.

I do think they'll try to sign Puig though.

Lol you got a 500 pitcher, an over the hill outfielder and a head case. This trade looks like the Reds think they are done rebuilding and they really aren’t even close.

Dude even if we're not, we got rid of Homer Bailey. That's all that matters.

I hope they resign Puig.

I’m aware the Reds have a good lineup. Didn’t need to list them all. I don’t think their lineups is much, if at all, better than Milwaukee or Chicago, though. The difference is those two teams have better pitching.

Why the hell would Cleveland give up one of those two for trammel? Highly doubt that happens unless Senzel is involved (aka not happening).

lol Puig probably wont be resigning in Cincinnati. Dude’s has an ego, he is going to want to play in a bigger market.
Agreed but it's a small park that will boost his stats. So you never know. Can't wait for opening day!

Mostly agree but we'll see, either way it's something to get excited about for once. And as a Reds fan I'll take it.

No what? You don't think his power numbers will go up in GABP?

I already said I doubt he signs but the Reds will definitely try to.

Maybe but not from 26 to 40. That’s not how it works. Dodgers stadium was 11th in HR factor last season so it’s not like he was hitting in a pure pitchers park. In 2017 GABP was 10th and dodgers stadium 15th in HR factor.

I’ll take under 35 HRs for Puig.

The Dodgers had far more power than the Reds, so I'm not sure how you would judge (HR factor) I'm not even sure what that is. I think Puig will get around 35.
