I absolutely love your confidence, but I don't care what the current talent levels are for both teams...I'll never feel absolutely confident about a win there. Do I think they will win there this yeat... yeah but never confident. The home crowd and environment can make up too much ground for both teams imo.
That's what I always end up doing....I'll stop by once every day, or couple days and catch up on the last couple of pages.

Lol most of us were here talking about it both during and after the game so not sure what you were expecting. No point in beating a dead horse. It was a bad loss so we move on.
The drop will happen when last years numbers are dropped in a month
4th toughest schedule in the country according to KenPom. Just a terrible schedule for a team losing four multi-year starters.
I have no idea why our offensive efficiency is 8th though. Last year's numbers are still in there but are declining in their importance by the day and are gone on January 20th.

starters) but I think Purdue fans pissed on his notion that it would be a problem. Maybe I remember it wrong though.

Iowa has to be the surprise team of the young season and I will never understand Ken porn or the BPI on how they figure out how and where to rank teams.
other have tried to explain it to me so I just go by the AP and Coaches poll.
there defense is much better this year and in the interview to a player they all claim that they ARE BUYING into how important it is to PLAY Defense. maybe it was not a Fran problem but it was more of a players problem not putting in the effort.
this vs last year Fran can now sit the player not giving their 100% on defense and playing someone that will and it has had a affect on the players that know it WILL HAPPEN. vs last season when Fran was short on players to do that.

Wasn’t just him. Lot of people said losing 4 starters would be a problem. Well, at least me and him did. You might have too. That seems like a lot.
Anyone with a half a brain knew Purdue was overrated coming into this year. You can't lose 4 senior starters and bring in a pretty much unheralded class and expect to be a tournament team. There simply isn't enough talent.

Yep, that team returned senior Will Sheehey, Yogi Ferrell, and brought in a top 7 recruiting class. I think that was more about coaching than a lack of talent.
1st. The 4 games from that last group sucks imo! In all fairness, I'm probably projecting a little on this staff because I'm still bothered by how Crean scheduled.
2nd. Are last years stats at all figured into this years NET...like it is at Kenpom?

I think our scheduling got a lot better in a year.
Oh with out a doubt, its gotten better. Actually, if those 4 games were moved up into tier 3...it would be perfect imo.
That's why I added the last comment to my post...I know I'm nitpicking. But, I honestly don't think there's ever a good reason to intentionally schedule sub 250 teams.

how many especialy you thought that Iowa be would 8-2 and in the top 25?
that's not blowing shit. its about the fact at this point in the season that Iowa is 8-2 and #21 in the AP and #22 in the coaches poll with a AD in the 100's vs 240's last season.

but I will add this Iowa beat Oregon when they were ranked #13 and they won the Y2K Tourney. the 1st OOC Tourney in years. 1999-2000 if my memory is correct. the Great Alaska Shootout.

Iowa is not anywhere near a top 25 team, you know it and the rest of this board knows it.
I'd put them about 35 right now, which is higher than the 55 I thought before the season. Cook is a stud and they will beat some teams. Because if Fran and the defensive lapses the team still has, they will lose games they shouldn't as well.
