I just see a bunch of role players without Edwards. Don’t think Newman is instant impact, unless the rest are so bad that someone has to score. It appears Purdue is not a top 25 squad this year with Edwards, they probably won’t be next year without him.
We’ll see, and what on earth has you saying that about Newman? I’ve seen nothing but great scouting reports and his numbers back everything up.
Depends on how loose your definition of impact player is but my understanding is it’ll take until his Junior year to be a serious contributing B1G player, same with Franklin.
A guy that has a college ready body and can defend 3 spots and shoot from deep at a high level would be my definition of instant impact

A role player year 1 (like Boudreaux is) or an instant impact player year 1 (like Purdue fans thought Boudreux would be)?

Iowa has an amazing basketball history, that no one will know or even care about. Losing to some great San Fran teams with Bill Russell on them.
Also, the 64 team tourney, was 16 and only conference champs made it. No matter how good or hot your team was. Iowa is a historically good basketball program. Alford and Lickliter killed out program.
Also, the BIG 10 is so loaded with basketball programs with so much pride. The BIG 10 is far and away the best at everything.
I don’t see how the 2 are related at all but I still like Boudreaux if you’re implying that I shouldn’t.
I didn’t even know Iowa played basketball until we joined the B1G. I figured you just did football and wrestling

You don’t see how being overly confident in s new Purdue player could be related to how confident you are in another new Purdue player?
Yeah. Not really sure that’s Newman. I get you’re excited about him and all, but let’s not get crazy. What you described is crazy talk.
He’s averaging 8.6 and 5 in 17 mpg and his shot has been off the last few games, I’ll personally take that. But Boudreaux and Newman are strastopsheres away from being comparable as prospects.
There’s a reason he doesn’t get more minutes.

Your comments on Newman are crazy. He’s not going to be an instant impact guy the way you described. He may contribute, but he’s not going to be some high impact guy next year.
He’s probably saying you’re a ****ing idiot if you think Newman at 6’4 175 could defend Brazdeikas, Morgan, etc...... but he’s saying it in a nice way.
I'll take you at your word...it seemed like you were insinuating that everyone you discussed this with yesterday thought this also.
Ah. Yeah I meant 3 spots but the point still stands that he’s versatile on defense.
See Hails comment. Newman isn’t an instant impact guy. But, Purdue fans gonna Purdue fan. All of their recruits are underrated and likely All World. We get it.
He’s a top 75 recruit. I don’t think he’s underrated. And I beg to differ that he isn’t instant impact so we’ll just have to see.
As a Purdue fan, today sucked. But it was still great to have a full day of basketball.
Point still stands, a guy at his ranking isn’t likely to be an instant impact guy. Just because Purdue got him, doesn’t mean he’s going to be all world. Come back to reality a bit.
Newman might make up for Cline's loss from this team. Purdue's issue is that there will be no one to replace Carsen's production. They are going to miss the tournament this year, and are likely bottom 5 in the conference next year.
And I think there is a difference between being an instant impact on a normal team and being forced to score because your team sucks.
4 non conference losses with 0 good nonconference wins? That would take a big turnaround to be a tournament team. Maybe you are thinking they win the BTT?
Not sure I’d call that instant impact especially on your Purdue team next year.
All away from home, none of them bad. Win the 2 next should-be-win games and go 10-8 the rest of the way in the big ten which would obviously include solid wins and I think they’re in.
