****Official B1G In-Season Thread****

Your comment was about tournament wins. Livers didn’t play in those.
You’re smarter than this. Livers play that year is what got them a 1 seed. Alongside the other Beilien guys I’ve mentioned.

Hell, without Beilien’s guys when will he make the tourney for the first time?

If our big men are fouling this much tonight , I shudder at the thought what TJD will do tomorrow if MD keeps the lead.

Juwan has 5 tournament wins and Livers didn’t play in any of them.

Don’t be so hard on yourself

Which narrative?

That it took returning Beilien players for Juwan to win games in the tournament? That one is still good.

If Eli Brooks is the reason Juwan won 5 tournament games, he’s a stud.

But you can’t call him a stud after spending two years calling him average. Quite the conundrum.

Hardly a conundrum.

He was a good veteran that your team is desperately missing this year.

With him (or a player like him) you don’t think Michigan would be dancing this year with a chance at a run?

Can we call him better than Trent Frazier since he won 5 tournament games alone for Michigan?
No. And again he didn’t do it alone.

Frazier was playing thru a torn labrum in his shoulder in the tournament.

We’ve (again) been over this.

Eli Brooks gets all of Juwan’s credit for 5 tournament wins and we can’t even call him better than 2 win Frazier when Frazier got to play with a stud coach like Underwood?

I’m not firmly in the Underwood = stud at this point.

He’s just better than Juwan.

He certainly didn’t get gifted a legacy recruit like Franz, and Liver/Brooks.

For comparison, Underwood’s best pieces at Illinois left by Groce were incoming Freshman Trent Frazier or Kipper Nichols/Aaron Jordan.

Frazier could only win 2 tournament games with Underwood.

Brooks won 5 tournament games with Juwan.

Not a good look for Frazier. Brooks must be a stud.

Funny I tried to say the same comparing Underwood to Crean and that got laughed at. Here we are.
You might be right? I DEFINITELY think it’s too early to say. And if Underwood can hang multiple Big Ten banners and make a Sweet 16 or two, that’ll be an absolutely massive improvement from John Groce. If that can become our new normal, I guess we can reassess lol.

I'm officially a Sacramento Kings fan unless Iowa stuns their way to sweet 16. Even if the Kings blow this 4th quarter against the Knicks, they're my guys.
