He’s just better than Juwan.
He certainly didn’t get gifted a legacy recruit like Franz, and Liver/Brooks.
For comparison, Underwood’s best pieces at Illinois left by Groce were incoming Freshman Trent Frazier or Kipper Nichols/Aaron Jordan.
Frazier could only win 2 tournament games with Underwood.
Brooks won 5 tournament games with Juwan.
Not a good look for Frazier. Brooks must be a stud.

You might be right? I DEFINITELY think it’s too early to say. And if Underwood can hang multiple Big Ten banners and make a Sweet 16 or two, that’ll be an absolutely massive improvement from John Groce. If that can become our new normal, I guess we can reassess lol.
