****Official B1G In-Season Thread****

Kept thinking the same thing.

Gotta say tho the Interviewers/Podcasters are kinda bîtches for even asking that type of shit. Putting him in a shitty spot
You know he’s a full time member of that podcast right? If he was truly concerned, he could have just told them to cut that question.

They are absolutely dickheads, but hunter is too

Yeah the Marty dude that does the podcast seems like an idiot and Bohannon seems like a dickhead lol.

I’m sure he’s getting paid but the clips I have seen are horrible and it seems miserable for Dickinson lol.

I mean listen to how awkward this shit is 😂
Christ, Bohannon is an even bigger loser off the court.

Dude doesn’t have any charisma whatsoever, and is deadpan with every take… like lighten up and try making it (somewhat) enjoyable for the guests coming on

Dickinson just needs to not do whatever that is. Miserable is an understatement

Yikes, Dickinson might just not be very bright if he thought THAT is good idea.

Shit isn’t entertaining like at all (other than his embarrassing prediction)

But to each their own

Hunter Dickinson said Michigan was going to win by 20 over ASU on a Roundball podcast today.

Yikes…..
Its the culture of that school. All of them from Harbaugh and their football team to hoops players...they are all classless and it comes from the top on down over there. Howard and Harbaugh are complete toolbags.

Howard seems fine enough to me, outside of “the slap”

I don’t listen to much football shit to give an honest assessment on Harbaugh.

If you want to shut them up, beat em…. Not really a second solution in sports

Llewellyn is really, really bad. The past two guys were fine pickups. Jones was as good as Smith, though.

Fair enough yeah, I was probably just biased by team performance.

Not everyone can have flawless track records of nothing but upstanding young men like msu hoops and football.

It happens every other week. UM will be involved in a couple more of these by the end of the season.

Man Wynter had Lundy wide open cutting to the rim. Tough loss for PSU, but probably not a great sign for the ACC that one of their top 4-5 teams is getting taken to the wire by Penn State. I’ll be pretty disappointed if the B1G doesn’t work the ACC in the challenge this year

I think they're both tournament teams. Maybe equivalent to a 6/11 or 7/10 matchup. VT is favored, but not by a ridiculous margin. VT's biggest strength is perimeter shooting, which was anything but a strength today. 3 for 19 from three today.

As far as the ACC/Big Ten challenge, yes, I think the Big Ten should have a pretty big edge. Here's how I see it.

Won't be very close
Iowa (home) > Georgia Tech
Northwestern (home) > Pitt
Virginia Tech (home) > Minnesota

Schools with a favorable advantage
Maryland > Louisville (home)
Illinois (home) > Syracuse
Wisconsin (home) > Wake Forest
Duke (home) > Ohio State
Purdue > Florida State (home)

If I take the games I don't think will be close, and the ones where I think there's a clear favorite, Big Ten would be up 6-2. Margin for error then becomes very small for the ACC in these 6 toss-ups. Perhaps someone like Syracuse or FSU can still one, but odds aren't looking particularly great.

Toss-Up Contests
North Carolina @ Indiana
Virginia @ Michigan
Penn State @ Clemson
Michigan State @ Notre Dame
Rutgers @ Miami
Boston College at Nebraska

If they split the 6 toss-up games, and the Big Ten goes 6-2 in the other contests, Big Ten would win 9-5.

Our home board is split about 50/50 on who they think was better. Jones started out so bad that people hated him early and never really came around on him. But overall they were about the same IMO. I also thought JL would be on their level but yuck not so far.

At least when I watch Tyson Walker I see a Big Ten level athlete with Big Ten chops. Watching JL is like watching… well…. a kid from Princeton.

Yeah I don’t think it fully clicked for Jones until late in the season, but he was a menace for them down the stretch. Maybe the same could happen for Llewelyn, but in the small sample size, it doesn’t look promising

Mulcahy and McConnell both out for the Temple game this evening

How many OSU games have you seen? They’ve had one bad half of basketball in three game’s playing 8 guys who didn’t suit up for them last year out of a 9 man rotation . I do expect them to struggle when the competition ramps up next week but they’ve exceeded my expectations so far ( which wasn’t really that high )
Seen them twice.

And I came away with the same thoughts you did: See bold.

Maybe you can make your first Sweet 16 since 2012/13.

Temple just going to get to play everyone this year without a good chunk of their starters?

Jones had to be a bigger part of the team because the team was worse. I contend that Mike Smith was better from an intangible standpoint, less able to shot create, and a better distributor and shooter. I don’t have Synergy currently, but I think he graded out slightly better on defense, but I don’t remember specifics.

But Jones was still more efficient with (slightly) higher usage despite worse roster construction. Playing with Chaundee Brown/Franz Wagner/Isaiah Livers on the wings is… or should be… better for efficiency than the spacing issues Jones dealt with having Diabate play a lot of 4. Smith shouldn’t have an excuse for being less efficient than Jones.

I think overall they were similar. Home board is 50/50 on them.
