Just getting home at this time is a cruel reminder of why I can never buy season tickets even though they sound like a good idea every preseason.

Best Purdue team I’ve ever seen, not even close.

Also, was it you @Toast. that said Morton looked bigger? He was standing next to Newman waiting to check in & if I didn’t know any better I would have said he’s easily 6’8.

I think Bama, Michigan, and Georgia would be locks. I’d lean Cincinnati at 4 but thats more of a toss up as they aren’t Power 5 so who knows what the committee will think.

Honestly if college went to an NFL format with the higher seeds getting home field advantage and 12 teams I wouldn’t mind it. Though I doubt they expand it that much yet

Unfortunately in that scenario I think UC gets left out. 12 win Power 5 team with a 21 point win over a Top 10 team will jump then IMO.

What happens with these results..

Georgia 38 Alabama 7
Michigan 30 Iowa 7
Houston 27 Cincinnati 21
Baylor 23 Ok State 21

Yeah- as you relentlessly point out I’m older than you - 61 as of Nov 21. I have never seen Purdue ranked #1 and I’ve seen some damn good Purdue teams. I will love to see a #1 in front of Purdue on the ESPN scroll. 😀

then again Fran could ruin that plan 😂

I find this amazing. Would have guessed that they were #1 during the Big Dog Era.

That team only got to #3. It’s a very hard thing to accomplish especially if you’re not highly ranked to start the year. This has been a perfect storm for us.

You're a Duke fan too, no?

Purdue would have been a cooler college basketball atmosphere, IMO. But yeah, we're losing just the same. Probably by double-digits to Purdue. Shot selection in the second half was horrendous. Fadeaways, contested jumpers, off-balanced shots. 4 points in the final 7 minutes. Not good.

I think our defense is still really solid - and that defense makes us good enough to make a deep run. Winning on the road is always tough. But, that second half was brutal. A sharp contrast from the first half where we got so many easy looks.

Yep that was me. He definitely looks like he’s grown.

That would be wild. After Georgia and Michigan, Idk. I think Notre Dame would be #3. And Maybe Baylor jumps to #4? That last spot would most likely be a two-loss team.

I've got to say, legitimately some cutting edge and disruptive innovation by you to bring the umlaut u into our lives.

Go ahead, wear a black turtle neck from now on. You've earned that shit.
It’s definitely not worth it because i only post from my phone and now it’s autocorrecting all my texts to add umlauts.

The plight I have to go through is truly immeasurable, I don’t know how I overcome sometimes. I wouldn’t call me a hero, but I also wouldn’t not call me a hero

I’m reserving any judgement on my Illini until #11 Arizona comes to town, lol. As far as a total body of work thus far, it really is Purdue and then the pretenders. Who knows what this will look like in a couple months, though.
We still suck and we will continue to suck until we dont suck. That might not happen.

LOL, @ what?

"Purdue certainly class of the conference---right now."

This Purdue team is the best big ten we have seen in awhile. Not just this year. In the last 10 years, the Big Ten has only had 27 appearances as the #1 team in the AP poll. That's 27 total, or 12.7% of the polls in that span. That includes Indiana for 10 weeks in 2013, OSU for 7 in 2011, Michigan State 9 weeks briefly across the decade, and UM for 1 week in '13.

I get your point, but this isn't a typical Purdue team that looks good early. Or even a historically good Purdue team. This is a historically good Big Ten team.

Who the fvck is this jabroni? Three weeks in and this Purdue team is the best B1G team in the past decade? Pump the brakes a little.

On our homeboard, he once argued that one of our NBA early entry guys should've stayed to become a legend and then start a local car dealership instead of taking the guaranteed NBA money.

Be prepared for some galaxy brain takes.

Exactly...If you start out in the top 10 you have a shot, top 5 a decent shot if you start out hot, but it's never easy, some years the preseason #1 just runs the table.

Back when Big Dog was around, you still had the Fab 5 at UM, and Grant Hill at Duke. That was some all time great CBB competition.
