Its crazy....Purdue certainly class of the conference---right now. But we all know how conference play can go. Teams know one another, etc, etc...And I think Purdue playing as they have, kind of has made the rest look, well, meh. I don't think that is the case...Illinois has a ton of talent---just haven't gelled..Injuries, suspension, etc, etc....Wisky beat a very good Houston team...Michigan has great talent, its just young---plus one of the top 3 centers in the league...A super frosh(Houstan), who's struggling...OSU some early hiccups....But they too have the talent...SO does MSU....I like my Hoosiers. We battled tonight....If we had 27 turnovers in a game last year, we would have lost by 40. MSU is better than what others think....

Big 10 is going to be a monster.

lol

I'm 49---so not the best Purdue team I can recall..

1988 team you mentioned----that team was really, really good. Only lost two games in a very good B10. Still stunned they lost to KSU.

1994---Big Dog is healthy, PU goes to the FF.

IMO, those two, and maybe the Hummel team(s).

But no doubt, this is a veery good team---Probably Matt's best.

Easily his best

As long as Purdue doesn't choke against Iowa, they'll be #1 next week, baby!

Congrats. We’ve had some really damn good teams this decade but have never haven’t reached #1 since 2012/13. Even then we lost the very first game we had that rank lol. It’s been elusive.

Also I never agreed with our home boarders that say ranking doesn’t matter. Being ranked high is part of the fun of being a fan. Also the higher ranked you are the more spotlight you have in the media which is 1) fun 2) good exposure to recruits.

Yeah- as you relentlessly point out I’m older than you - 61 as of Nov 21. I have never seen Purdue ranked #1 and I’ve seen some damn good Purdue teams. I will love to see a #1 in front of Purdue on the ESPN scroll. 😀

then again Fran could ruin that plan 😂

Three years ago #2 Michigan started 17-0. I was going to their 18th game @ Wisconsin. That morning Duke beat #1 Virginia. It was a Saturday game so all Michigan needed to do was win and would be #1 on Monday.

Agreed, this Monday was the first time in 635 days Illinois wasn’t ranked (after like 10 years of being ranked rarely, lol…), and it sucked. Never got why fans said rankings didn’t matter. They certainly do to me.

Race Thompson had a rough noght---especially in the 1st half....He had 7 turnovers...Played much better in 2nd half....Just looked at the box score, and as "bad as he was", dude just missed a triple double...

17/12/8.....

Damn.

Yeah even if it's just a week it would be a cool milestone, don't think Purdue has ever had a team ranked #1 before
It will be longer than a week....If, and you will, beat Iowa, after that, its, well....

@ Rutgers---Meh. DOubtful
@NC State----Meh
Vs Butler--No
Vs Incarante Wood--No
Vs Nicholls St---No
Vs Wisky-----Meh.
@ PSU---Nope
@ Michigan------Very possible..

Imagine these outcomes this weekend:
Alabama 24 Georgia 21
Michigan 24 Iowa 21
Oklahoma State 31 Baylor 10
Cincinnati 31 Houstan 10

Who makes the CFB a playoffs? Wish they would just move to 8 teams. I’d have have a couple undeserving teams make it than a couple deserving teams miss it.

I think Bama, Michigan, and Georgia would be locks. I’d lean Cincinnati at 4 but thats more of a toss up as they aren’t Power 5 so who knows what the committee will think.

Honestly if college went to an NFL format with the higher seeds getting home field advantage and 12 teams I wouldn’t mind it. Though I doubt they expand it that much yet
