You guys talk about Izzo like he’s Jim Boeheim. We won this conference in 2020 and went to the Final Four in 2019. That’s 2 and 3 years ago.
Izzo’s standing on Rivals

You are by far one of my fav Purdue posters----But brother, if IU shot 46 FT's to 12, you dude would be all over this shit....Hell, any team for that matter. Texas is aggressive--and they do foul. But Texas is also very aggressive on offense, and gets to the rack----For a team as bad as PU is defensively, especially with keeping opposing guards out of the lane-----its kinda of shocking the difference was 46-12. And I get it their biggest dude was 6'6", and very guard oriented----but they attack the rim..
Which leads to the fact that of the 46 FT's, only 16 were attempted by Edey(12) and Williams(4).
46-12 is a huge difference. But at the end of the day, the better team won.
He lost in the second round. No ones doubting his history or legacy. But listen to Eminem and flash back to reality. He missed the field of 64 last year and lost in the first round this year. He’ll be 68 next season.
Yeah the Super senior situation gives Michigan St a chance to move up.I disagree but we shall see. Again it’s way too early. If MSU doesn’t properly address the bigs through the portal I don’t think we sniff the top 4 next year. If we land some really high level transfers I’d feel pretty good about a top 4 finish.
We don’t know the Super senior situation or the transfers in or out, so it’s too early to make a judgment.
He lost in the second round.
Barring disappointing transfers, I think we’re going have a pretty solid 1-3 next year. I’m excited to get Walker/Hoggard back, and I’m expecting jumps out of Christie and Akins who shined at times this year. Hopefully Malik can get out of his own head and play with some fire. If we land a good transfer at the 5 I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be minimum a top 25 team next year.
You can quote me on this, if MSU doesn’t finish within the top 25 next year barring like a plane crash of the team or wildly unforeseen circumstances I will agree with the statement Izzo is no longer a top 3 coach in the conference.
Where is Christie in the mocks? I haven’t looked at any.He lost in the second round.

Congrats on making it man....was just making the point that how far a team goes being a huge deal is relative to expectations (to a certain point, in my opinion, the Elite Eight is the huge deal objectively). Underachieving for a huge chunk of the season doesn't change the fact that UM's talent should have higher expectations than say, UW.Nothing like downplaying making the second weekend of the tournament when your team misses it.
2nd rdWhere is Christie in the mocks? I haven’t looked at any.
If I had to guess right now I’d say they’re all gone but you never know. I could see Bingham or Hauser coming back but I think Brown is for sure gone.Yeah the Super senior situation gives Michigan St a chance to move up.
Who’s all considering coming back?
If Christie comes back with Walker/Hoggard/Akins msu will be in the conversation for best guard play in the conference for sure.He lost in the second round.

Barring Bingham and Brown returning I don’t think Michigan St will be a true threat to win the conference. If I had to guess right now I’d say they’re all gone but you never know. I could see Bingham or Hauser coming back but I think Brown is for sure gone.
MSU and Izzo personally has reached out to SF/PF Jalen Bridges from WVU. Take that for what you will. I think Brown/Hauser are done.
Look who’s voting on that award though. Rum dumbs.Don’t care what anyone says. The two time B1G COY in 2 of the last 3 years is in the top 3 right now. Especially with the rum dumbs we trot out there.
COY, POY.Look who’s voting on that award though. Rum dumbs.
If MSU can replace them with solid transfer additions I don’t see why we couldn’t be decent. But I agree if we just lose the seniors and then roll into next year with what we have right now, I wouldn’t expect us to finish top 4. Marble and Sissoko cannot be your 5 tandem.Barring Bingham and Brown returning I don’t think Michigan St will be a true threat to win the conference.
Just one man’s opinion but you look to me like a team that’ll finish 3rd to 7th depending on what other teams do.

Gard has less wins in the Conference during the last 3 years, and hasn’t beat him once H2H.COY, POY.
How you feeling about Thursday?Lot of OFF SEASON TALK GOING ON ITT
Just an observation 🧐🧐

Would you prefer we talk about Michigan-Villanova and Purdue-St Peters until Thursday?

I have Gard ahead of Underwood .Don’t care what anyone says. The two time B1G COY in 2 of the last 3 years is in the top 3 right now. Especially with the rum dumbs we trot out there.
Don’t care Gard > UnderwhelmGard has less wins in the Conference during the last 3 years, and hasn’t beat him once H2H.
He’s running 4th at best behind Underwood, Painter, and Howard.
Michigan matches up well with Nova.PERFECT
Underwhelm has the same amount of tourney wins as Gard, and more regular season wins.Don’t care Gard > Underwhelm
I actually think we match up better against them than we did against Tenn . Hopefully Jones is healthy. Michigan is gonna need multiple guards against themMichigan matches up well with Nova.
I expect a win.
PS-I called the Michigan over Tennessee on Saturday too😉
My B.
Just Loyola’d as a ****ing 1 seed. Meanwhile Gard has beaten 1 and 2 seeds. Underwhelm has 6 tourney wins? That’s a new one on me. Basketball didn’t start 3 years ago.Underwhelm has the same amount of tourney wins as Gard, and more regular season wins.
Hasn’t been 11-seeded either😂

Other than not liking Juwan Howard (didn't like him before the dust-up at UW), best of luck. Five sweet sixteens in a row is awesome. In a vacuum, doing it this year for UM, is less awesome when taking in the big picture of what was expected of UM this season.
Had UW been ranked in the top five to start the year and had the same results yesterday, you're damn right I'd be pissed. I was pissed last year when UW shit the bed. This year, different story for UW.
Is this thread from a parallel reality?Wait, you think he is top 3 right now?
Is this thread from a parallel reality?
How could Izzo not be in the top 3 in the conference?
Honestly pretty sly humble brag from Btown here.I’d certainly look for the answer in a Big Ten college basketball thread and not Google.
In the 3 years Underwood has had an actual D-1 roster, Gard hasn’t beaten him😂Just Loyola’d as a ****ing 1 seed. Meanwhile Gard has beaten 1 and 2 seeds. Underwhelm has 6 tourney wins? That’s a new one on me. Basketball didn’t start 3 years ago.
Yeah, but he’s only two years removed from winning the league three straight times. Beat the Zion team and went to the Final Four a few years ago.We aren’t talking overall resume. We are talking now and going forward.
They don’t get to the rack at all really. They lived and died with jumpers yesterday. You are by far one of my fav Purdue posters----But brother, if IU shot 46 FT's to 12, you dude would be all over this shit....Hell, any team for that matter. Again don’t care. Basketball doesn’t start when you are all of a sudden ok again. In the 3 years Underwood has had an actual D-1 roster, Gard hasn’t beaten him😂
Since Gard has had his players, he’s been worse than Underwood.
So I guess Congrats on coming after Ryan instead of Groce?
Anything beyond 3 years is ancient history apparently.Yeah, but he’s only two years removed from winning the league three straight times. Beat the Zion team and went to the Final Four a few years ago.
