You are by far one of my fav Purdue posters----But brother, if IU shot 46 FT's to 12, you dude would be all over this shit....Hell, any team for that matter. Texas is aggressive--and they do foul. But Texas is also very aggressive on offense, and gets to the rack----For a team as bad as PU is defensively, especially with keeping opposing guards out of the lane-----its kinda of shocking the difference was 46-12. And I get it their biggest dude was 6'6", and very guard oriented----but they attack the rim..

Which leads to the fact that of the 46 FT's, only 16 were attempted by Edey(12) and Williams(4).

46-12 is a huge difference. But at the end of the day, the better team won.

Oh no doubt we’d give you guys a hard time but Texas fouls a TON and Purdue doesn’t foul that much. Texas took like 30 3’s and settled for a lot of jumpers. Beard preaches to play extremely aggressive defense and see if the refs call it. Unfortunately for him, they did. They couldn’t handle Ivey or our bigs. Getting us in the bonus with 12 minutes left certainly played a huge role.

No ones doubting his history or legacy. But listen to Eminem and flash back to reality. He missed the field of 64 last year and lost in the first round this year. He’ll be 68 next season.
He lost in the second round.

Barring disappointing transfers, I think we’re going have a pretty solid 1-3 next year. I’m excited to get Walker/Hoggard back, and I’m expecting jumps out of Christie and Akins who shined at times this year. Hopefully Malik can get out of his own head and play with some fire. If we land a good transfer at the 5 I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t be minimum a top 25 team next year.

You can quote me on this, if MSU doesn’t finish within the top 25 next year barring like a plane crash of the team or wildly unforeseen circumstances I will agree with the statement Izzo is no longer a top 3 coach in the conference.

I disagree but we shall see. Again it’s way too early. If MSU doesn’t properly address the bigs through the portal I don’t think we sniff the top 4 next year. If we land some really high level transfers I’d feel pretty good about a top 4 finish.

We don’t know the Super senior situation or the transfers in or out, so it’s too early to make a judgment.
Yeah the Super senior situation gives Michigan St a chance to move up.

Who’s all considering coming back?

Wait, you think he is top 3 right now?

Where is Christie in the mocks? I haven’t looked at any.

Nothing like downplaying making the second weekend of the tournament when your team misses it.
Congrats on making it man....was just making the point that how far a team goes being a huge deal is relative to expectations (to a certain point, in my opinion, the Elite Eight is the huge deal objectively). Underachieving for a huge chunk of the season doesn't change the fact that UM's talent should have higher expectations than say, UW.

Other than not liking Juwan Howard (didn't like him before the dust-up at UW), best of luck. Five sweet sixteens in a row is awesome. In a vacuum, doing it this year for UM, is less awesome when taking in the big picture of what was expected of UM this season.

Had UW been ranked in the top five to start the year and had the same results yesterday, you're damn right I'd be pissed. I was pissed last year when UW shit the bed. This year, different story for UW.

Don’t care what anyone says. The two time B1G COY in 2 of the last 3 years is in the top 3 right now. Especially with the rum dumbs we trot out there.

If I had to guess right now I’d say they’re all gone but you never know. I could see Bingham or Hauser coming back but I think Brown is for sure gone.

MSU and Izzo personally has reached out to SF/PF Jalen Bridges from WVU. Take that for what you will. I think Brown/Hauser are done.

If Christie comes back with Walker/Hoggard/Akins msu will be in the conversation for best guard play in the conference for sure.

Barring Bingham and Brown returning I don’t think Michigan St will be a true threat to win the conference.

Just one man’s opinion but you look to me like a team that’ll finish 3rd to 7th depending on what other teams do.

If MSU can replace them with solid transfer additions I don’t see why we couldn’t be decent. But I agree if we just lose the seniors and then roll into next year with what we have right now, I wouldn’t expect us to finish top 4. Marble and Sissoko cannot be your 5 tandem.

Free throw rate nationally - Purdue 13th, Texas 122nd

Free throw defense rate nationally - Purdue 5th, Texas 336th.

In other words, Purdue tries to get to the line and avoids fouling. Texas commits a ton of fouls.

10 of Texas' 11 worst defensive free throw rate games occurred in their final 12 games.

If Purdue had those crappy metrics, I'd be pissed at Painter long before I'd be pissed at the refs.

Michigan matches up well with Nova.

I expect a win.

PS-I called the Michigan over Tennessee on Saturday too😉
I actually think we match up better against them than we did against Tenn . Hopefully Jones is healthy. Michigan is gonna need multiple guards against them

Going to the Sweet 16 while starting 3 freshmen after replacing 4 of our top 6 scorers is awesome. If it was so easy more Big Ten teams would be doing it. Ohio State hasn’t been there since 2013. Illinois since 2005. Wisconsin 2017. Etc.

Just Loyola’d as a ****ing 1 seed. Meanwhile Gard has beaten 1 and 2 seeds. Underwhelm has 6 tourney wins? That’s a new one on me. Basketball didn’t start 3 years ago.
In the 3 years Underwood has had an actual D-1 roster, Gard hasn’t beaten him😂

Since Gard has had his players, he’s been worse than Underwood.

So I guess Congrats on coming after Ryan instead of Groce?

They don’t get to the rack at all really. They lived and died with jumpers yesterday.

Again don’t care. Basketball doesn’t start when you are all of a sudden ok again.
