I look down on directional school kids that cheer for UM. Not to mention the WT that uniformly rep the maize and blue. It’s like some unwritten rule that if you have missing teeth you have to cheer for Michigan.

Yeah, pretty much this....I grew up about an hour/plus from Bloomington. Entire family are IU fans---well mostly....I mean my cousin was a cheerleader from Indiana, and a graduate----So maybe I can use here alumni card?
Its dumb. People become fans for various reasons.....SHit in the 80's I loved the Lakers b/c f Magic.....in the 90's, became a Bulls fan due to MJ.....Now I love the Pacers. No idea why...Maybe b/c I have a friend, who has a friend, who has a friend, that worked for the Pacers?

You can bring this issue to the board’s committee in the off-season. For now we will be classifying it the same way as Michigan State last year.

I also think your average MSU grad and Walmart Wolverine have more common personality wise than your average pretentious douche Michigan Alum. There’s plenty of cool alum. Then there’s a bunch that flash their Michigan credential like it’s an FBI badge. No one cares.
How about the people who root for one college team in basketball and the other in football ?
Before Michigan got good at basketball I knew a lot… a LOT of Michigan football/MSU basketball fans.
Yeah, the idea there aren’t non-alum MSU fans in Michigan is a joke. It is not exactly Harvard.
The ND football/IU basketball fans? Love those guys. Just get a quick wardrobe change in December and you’re good to go.
Ferris State was pretty split. About half Michigan and half MSU fans. We were on the west side of the state so a lot of students come from the Grand Rapids and Lansing areas
We all cheered for Ferris State hockey when either of those schools came to down because it was the one school Ferris played D1 in.
Lot of enter school in Indiana here/Notre Dame football fans in this state...

I'm not one of them. Though I did enjoy ND football when the Rocket was there----most electric player I;ve seen in college football.
For the most part the directional school kids are UM fans. I think a big problem is many of them view UM as unattainable. After all, they’re at schools that are easy to get into.
A lot of them apply to MSU thinking they have a chance but get denied. That rejection combined with UM being the trendy school makes for a lot of their fans.
The Wal*Marts are a different breed. Those are like your downriver auto line factory guys. The only thing they’ve got are Bo stories (while ignoring the 1,000+ sexual assaults) and the Harbaugh Big Ten title.

You know what's funny though........you think we're an inferior program despite results suggesting otherwise.
Why does a program like Indiana only make it as far as Iowa if they're suppose to be better?

Agreed. No one remembers that the hardest team you guys played on your path to the championship game against Nova was a 6 seed. You still have the banner for it.
We're a state school, just don't have the state as the name. Enrollment is up so much we're bound to have our fair share of Walmart fans, unfortunately.
I promise you the elite 8 win over 9 seed Florida State felt just as good as the Elite 8 win over 2 seed Florida. You guys aren’t going to feel bummed if your path is “easy”
No shit! Id be thrilled. We play chalk anytime we make a run to a sweet 16/E8.
Texas is hardly a cakewalk, but not having a 1 or 2 seed is nice.
We’ll screw it up don’t worry. That’s what we do.
No games are a cake walk. Winning 4 straight games on a neutral court against tournament teams is sweet no matter what. You’re beating teams that beat those 1 and 2 seeds. Or teams that beat the teams that beat them.
1st 4 games tomorrow are BIg Ten games…let’s roll!
