I knew this was coming......I'll leave that to Hail....And not sure if anyone on here did----I know most experts felt PU was by far the best team----even up to the halfway point or so.
But hey, I'd take 13-6, over 9-10---So there is that.

But technically there’s only been one tournament since MSU made a final four.

No one is doubting how awesome Izzo was. But the fact is that he’s just had the worst two seasons of his career and turns 68 next season. Over the next 5 seasons where would you take Izzo among conference coaches?

Nah, we have a banner hanging for winning the Big Ten Tournament, Fran’s absolute favorite place to suck. Lol.
We beat Duke to go to a FF in 2019. Then Casius's senior year was cut short in 2020 when we won the B10 and would have been a 2/3 seed but there was no tourney.
Izzo has taken up permanent residence in UofM fan's heads, they obsess over him as you can tell. If we're a program where the sky is falling because we fell outside the top 25 for a week, we're in pretty good shape. Especially when we just beat a top five team.
After 23 years of Izzo, I just don't sweat the small stuff anymore.
That’s not “just” what has happened. You guys still suck after a year where you missed the tournament field of 64 and finished under .500 in Big Ten play. Two down years in a row for a coach that will be 68 years old next year.
It is serious bidness for sure. Did you guys beat the goofs? I switched over to LSU/Arky.

It is interesting to see the mental gymnastics from Hail.
I can’t stand Izzo either (hate his whiny antics and think he put wins over character with Apling especially) and truly believe he’s in the sunset of his career. He might have one more run in him but that’s hard to project. He’s also had a career every B1G coach not named Bob Knight would just about kill for too.
What mental gymnastics? My entire point is something you just stated yourself….. that Izzo appears to be in the sunset of his career. They’ve had back to back down years and turns 68 next year. No mental gymnastics needed.
This has nothing to do with his overall career or resume. He’s a HOF coach. One of the greats. But that doesn’t mean we can’t step back and be realistic about trajectory/5 year outlook.
Seeing someone agree with what my point has been while telling me I’m doing mental gymnastics is a new one.

I’m still humble about Michigan. What does that have to do with calling out MSU for also sucking and choking down the stretch after I spent all year taking it from them?
And then all I’ve pointed out is that MSU is 19-19 in the B1G Ten over the past two seasons and Izzo turns 68 next year. I don’t think anyone would take him over Painter or Underwood over the next 5 seasons.
