No Final four = disappointment
Of course I'll be disappointed if we don't go to a Final Four....just like every other year we make the tournament.

I'm especially disappointed every other year that we make the Sweet Sixteen (like 3 of the last 4 tournaments that were played). Maybe this year, you can finally feel that disappointment.

Hopefully this juggernaut of a Purdue team can avoid UNT in the first round.

BTT has a remarkably even history:

Michigan State: 6 titles, 7 championship games, 32-17 overall (.653)
Ohio State: 4 titles, 9 championship games, 30-16 (.652)
Illinois: 3 titles, 7 championship games, 31-20 (.608)
Wisconsin: 3 titles, 7 championship games, 26-20 (.568)
Michigan: 2 titles, 4 championship games, 25-19 (.568)
Iowa: 2 titles, 3 championship games, 18-21 (.462)
Purdue: 1 title, 4 championship games, 14-22 (.389)
Minnesota: 0 titles, 1 championship game, 18-21 (.462)
Penn State: 0 titles, 1 championship game, 15-23 (.395)
Indiana: 0 titles, 1 championship game, 13-23 (.361)
Rutgers: 0 titles, 0 championship games, 4-6 (.400)
Nebraska: 0 titles, 0 championship games, 5-10 (.333)
Maryland: 0 titles, 0 championship games, 3-6 (.333)
Northwestern: 0 titles, 0 championship games, 9-24 (.273)

Considering the BTT has been in Indy 10 of the 23 seasons, Indiana's abysmal record really stands out. Also kind of surprised how badly Maryland has fared in the BTT, given they have mostly been good since joining the league.
Turge teams fall apart towards the end of the season

Hire bad coaches. The thing is, all of our programs are built on more of a house of cards than we care to realize. 1 bad hire is just a hire away. And we had 2 of them. Underwood seems to be a great hire. But he could go away in a year or 2 and then it’s back to making a good hire.
Such a good point. We got lucky with 3 in a row then Guenther wanted loyalty so he settled.

Painter has been decent in the BTT...not great but decent. Keady was atrocious. I truly believed he didn't want to participate.

Show me where he hurt you.

Nah, it still works. We overachieved last year and were the youngest team in the tournament. You were a 1 seed and the best Illinois team in almost 20 years.
Couldn’t win a single game in the tourney.

Huge overachievers.

Pretty impressive given Izzo's reputation for years was not caring about the the BTT

He is my hero.

He is a bad mother fvcker.

We have him a standing ovation this year.
Yeah, that Gold medal match was insane. I actually got up at like 4am to watch it. Dudes gonna win a national championship (barring injury), the Hodge trophy ( for a second time) and The Olympic Gold Medal all within a year. Not a bad run. Anthony Cassar has huge bragging rights as being the only Collegiate wrestler to beat Gable.

Yeah, we were both up posting live, lol. That was the greatest gold medal match I have ever seen. Some people won't get it, but we do.

And he was so kind and cool in his interviews afterwards. He seems like a normal guy that could just whip the shit out of 99% of the people on this planet.
