Show me the video. Interesting way to admit being wrong. Glad you agree though.
Not wrong at all.....He STOPPED. PLANTED. Then JUMPED. Of course there is going to be some momentum (forward)----he weighs 270lbs. Hes 6'7", 270 running at full speed---stops, plants, then jumps....

I see it from the NCAA rule book----you see it from a physics book.

No need to dig up the video---you know as well as I do, Frazier carried the ball...

Lol, imagine our board Illini fans after a 5-season span of 4 Big Ten Titles, 2 BTT Titles, 1 NC Game/Final Four, 2 Elite Eights and 4 Sweet Sixteens.

You think we’re annoying now. ;) Wish such great seasons had been at an age when I could drink and wasn’t going to fvcking recess, lol…

Omg, that would have been too much. Lol

Seemed like alot of chest.

They got cheated in that game as well.

May got away with murder and got the preacher fouled out. And Illini needed him. They were not a big team
Trust me I’ve heard many say that lol

I have no memory of it so it’s hard for me to get emotionally invested

Purdue then huge gap, then Illinois/Ohio State/Wisconsin then small gap, Iowa/Rutgers.

No clue what to think of Indiana or Michigan schools

I kind of think Rutgers could make a run. They are so shit away from home though that it's a scary pick in a bracket.

Its inevitable...People see contact, lose their fukin minds, and scream foul. You have two guys, running full speed, and meet at the end----one never stops----the other does, then jumps. Both bodies, even with Lidell stopping, are still going to have some forward motion....

I am surprised Bill Nye, AKA, JayC, doesn't realize that....I guess he feels 6'7", 270 dudes, running at full speed, who come to a stop then jump, wil have zero forward momentum....

I dunno----I'm not the science guy..

Same.

I think any of those team can make it second weekend, just gonna take the right matchups.

I also thought that last year😂

It was a tough spot for the refs I think, because of the way the game was being called. Both teams were very physical

Really good take, BUT----I do not think the gap between Purdue, OSU, Illinois or Wisky is that huge....Not at all. Ofensively? Yeah, probably. But overall? Nope.

IU is who they are, TBH.....They have been in damn near every game. Pissed away wins vs Wisky twice and the OSU.....TBH, talent wise, and when XJ is playing at the level he has been, IU can be dangerous---But we are mentally fragile.....

Then you’re familiar with Section 39 Art. 1.I: the defender may not use the lower part of his body to cause contact outside of his vertical plane. or E: the defender may jump vertically and occupy the space within his vertical plane. He travelled horizontally.

That makes no sense to me. He made contact on his lower body. The shot makes no difference since his hands were straight up.
If he shoots, it means his hands go UP, not down---and odds are, there now becomes contact with his arms/shoulders.....Instead he dropped his arms/hands, to pass----thus eliminating any chance of there being contact to his arms/shulders.....In other words---MORE contact. Or at least the possibility.

You can literally see Liddell’s momentum going from right to left and then it stops in air. I only have a physics major, but I’m pretty sure air resistance doesn’t slow you down that much.
As a Purdue fan who is glad Illinois lost for conference title purposes....Liddell fouled the shit out of him there and if Borden can't tell that, he should hang up his whistle.

Defender wasn't set, jumping straight up, he was running frantically toward Frazier after being out of position and jumped toward him rather than straight up. Blatant blocking foul.

That said, officials have been awful this year, so I'm not surprised at all that the call was missed there.

You reap what you sow honestly. That Illinois starting 5 has an average age of 24 years old. Illinois has abused the COVID extra year like no other team in college basketball. These kids shouldn’t even be allowed to play college basketball. Grown ass men who should be in first day orientation are allowed to play college basketball. It’s an absolute joke.

and the Illinois fanbase has complained more about officiating in their losses than any fanbase I’ve ever seen. They simply can’t come to grips that they’re team maybe isn’t that good? It’s a bunch of undersized chuckers on the perimeter with a b i g b o i down low, and no bench. When they’re all on they’re solid, but they rely too much on one on one play and isolation 3 balls to really be successful.

@B-Westy on an absolute crusade to be the least liked Purdue poster in the thread this season. Killing it.

Jay you need to relax. I don’t lump you in with the rest of your fanbase. And frankly a lot of the Illinois posters here are solid. But the bloviating about officiating from a very loud section of your fanbase has become tiresome. There are mods on the 24/7 board suggesting Illinois LEAVES THE BIG 10 FOR THE BIG 12 because of this grand officiating conspiracy against Illinois. It’s absolutely insane.

I like your squad, but is my assessment of your team really that far off? Frazier and Plummer are nice pieces. Cockburn is really good, but you’re vulnerable defensively with that backcourt, and Cockburn doesn’t erase much at the rim. It sucks you guys have had an inconsistent lineup with injuries and covid. But at this point I think you guys are what you are. A good Big 10 team, top 25 in the country.

I didn’t realize you couldn’t move while playing defense.
