Jay you need to relax. I don’t lump you in with the rest of your fanbase. And frankly a lot of the Illinois posters here are solid. But the bloviating about officiating from a very loud section of your fanbase has become tiresome. There are mods on the 24/7 board suggesting Illinois LEAVES THE BIG 10 FOR THE BIG 12 because of this grand officiating conspiracy against Illinois. It’s absolutely insane.

I like your squad, but is my assessment of your team really that far off? Frazier and Plummer are nice pieces. Cockburn is really good, but you’re vulnerable defensively with that backcourt, and Cockburn doesn’t erase much at the rim. It sucks you guys have had an inconsistent lineup with injuries and covid. But at this point I think you guys are what you are. A good Big 10 team, top 25 in the country.
I don’t completely disagree that we’re vulnerable because we don’t have a slasher that’s effective, but a few of the details you used to arrive at that point are incorrect. Frankly, there’s a lot of merit to the complaints about officiating Kofi. It’s annoying, yes, but do you expect people to just not say anything about something that is clearly affecting the ceiling of a team?

I didn’t realize you couldn’t move while playing defense.
Think of it this way, if he was on the ground and made the same late rotation and made contact with his hip, it would have been called.

It’s a no-brainer call on the replay, and I’m a little perplexed that Borden is unwilling to fess up to it.

Welcome to the club. Purdue has been dealing with this for the past 7 years. It is a problem, officials never knew how to officiate Hammons, Haas, Edey and now Cockburn. He is punished for being big. But that’s just how it is. There isn’t some grand conspiracy against Illinois. It’s shit officiating yes, but to blame all your losses on it isn’t the answer.

There have been two games this season that I think it’s made a significant difference. There have been numerous games where it’s been an issue. It’s a real issue that needs to be addressed. I don’t get the willingness to accept a poor product like this. Other conferences don’t suffer to the degree that we do.

It’s a last second play where both guys connect. No advantage gained. Whether it is or not doesn’t matter, it’s not getting called. You can if if if it all you want. A defender is allowed to go straight up. If contact is made so be it. We’ve done that countless times this year in critical times of a game and have not been called for it, Wahl especially.

Others don’t have the king kongs we do either.

The argument is that he didn’t go vertical. His hands did. His body did not. Liddell impeded movement. That’s a foul, and it shouldn’t matter when the foul happened.

So the 1,500 times when your guys impeded movement on the perimeter don’t count? You’re complaining about 1 play. Just take the L and move on. Officials suck for everyone.

The officiate these guys year after year. It’s not like it’s rocket science. If you can’t figure out that a big guy getting raked on the arm is a foul because he’s tall and strong, maybe you’re just not a very good official. It’s funny how it’s not as much of an issue when we’re not in conference play.

You guys have a playbook for trying to move the goalposts?

A foul is a foul. Consistency is the entire point.

They can’t figure out a guard getting raked across the arm is a foul. And you expect them to figure it out with a big guy?

If your argument is they should be more consistent and call it the same (and accurate) every time, I absolutely agree. I also think that doesn’t favor Kofi.

Just like Edey, he gets away with a lot of offensive fouls the way he dislodges defenders. Kyle Young got called for one in the second half that Kofi does 8-10 times a game.

The game would take 4 hours. They need to emphasize the freedom of movement from the beginning. But there are certain officials you know from the start whether it will be an out of control football match at some point. And that bald idiot is high on the list.

I’d just like a 3 second call once in a blue moon on these Goliath’s. Is it too much to ask to enforce the rules. They’re hard enough to defend.

There is no doubt they miss it at times but i don’t think it’s committed as often as people think. I think a lot of people don’t understand everything that causes the count to be reset.

No and even I tend to rewind and see that they’ve reset but in live action when you’re not solely focused on it, it looks bad at times. But it’s still not called at all basically.

I think you are asking a lot of an official to have one official on the baseline be cognizant of the feet of people in and entering the lane, contact above and also where the ball is. I couldn’t do it, especially with 15,000 fans screaming.

They don’t take charges on them for some reason. If they did, then the bigs wouldn’t try it as much.

They also get manhandled off the ball with very few calls made to prevent it. I’m surprised dudes like Kofi and Edey don’t have more back problems.

You reap what you sow honestly. That Illinois starting 5 has an average age of 24 years old. Illinois has abused the COVID extra year like no other team in college basketball. These kids shouldn’t even be allowed to play college basketball. Grown ass men who should be in first day orientation are allowed to play college basketball. It’s an absolute joke.

and the Illinois fanbase has complained more about officiating in their losses than any fanbase I’ve ever seen. They simply can’t come to grips that they’re team maybe isn’t that good? It’s a bunch of undersized chuckers on the perimeter with a b i g b o i down low, and no bench. When they’re all on they’re solid, but they rely too much on one on one play and isolation 3 balls to really be successful.
That last parts funny considering your meltdowns here each time Purdue loses.

Sounds like your team. A couple of really good players that can’t defend a chair.

Some similarities but we have two stud bigs and a lottery pick at guard. They have one stud big and no one on Ivey’s level. Don’t think our teams are too similar tbh.

You can only play one of those bigs at a time. They don't have anyone on Ivey's level, but the rest of their guards are better than yours. They aren't as good as Purdue, but it was weird for Blair to say they had a couple good players, but couldn't defend when that is exactly Purdue's issue (on a bigger level).

Only two more weeks until your forever ban! We’ll be having a going away party the night of the awards reveal show. I invited all your biggest fans. It’ll be a great scene.

Aww, I didn’t realize you cared so much. That’s sweet of you.

It was a great comeback, because you always get so offended by it. Bye Vulva.
LOL you are so reaching. Someone who had the ultimate psycho meltdown talking about meltdowns is so laughable and hilarious. Hope you got some therapy.

Lol okay, Vulva. If by therapy you meant spending the last two months in Florida playing golf every day, then yes, I got some nice therapy.
