Purdue fans yesterday: We can’t say Diabate is legit after two games vs bad teams.

Have you watched him man? I don’t blow smoke, dude is that legit. Can go to either hand, has great touch, goes hard at the rim, great rebounder, good passer out of double teams now which was something he needed to improve last year, good foul shooter, & oh he is the largest human on the court at all time.
Not to mention that the argument wasn’t even that Diabate wasn’t legit but Hail can’t get that through his thick skull.
The big issue with Edey/Williams is they can’t play together, so you’re looking at 20 mins a piece for 2 of your 3 best players on the team. Now we are only 2 games into the season against weak competition so we can’t draw too much from it but Dickinson and Diabate have played together and played well. I think by end of season you’ll be looking at Dickinson with 30 mins a game and Diabate around 25. The other thing to consider is defense. Williams blows Diabate out of the water on offense right now but Diabate is already a better defender 2 games into his freshman season.
Evidence is in his numbers so far despite the minutes limitation & how he’s looked since the summer. You think Painter would just bench his all big ten senior center for some jabroni? Edey’s been that dominant.
I want them to keep playing well on offense, but start slacking on D. The over not looking great. Wright St completely inept.
Summer play in U-19. The benching of all big ten center Trevion, the eye test, his numbers so far, etc. & again, you seem to never understand the discussion we had in the first place. Don’t even care though because Edey’s numbers will be there at the end of the year. His per minute rate is going to be silly.
Lol. He does look slimmed down. I have never been the biggest fan of Trevion but he looks really good so far. I’m sure having the competition with Edey has pushed him as wellnever say never...could always play Williams @ pg with his smooth passing

I wouldn’t put Edey in front of HuntDick yet but if you want statistical support, here are last year’s per 40 numbers where Dickinson didn’t have a 1st team All Big Ten guy in front of him and limiting his minutes:
HuntDick - 22 pts, 11 reb, 59.8% FG, 2.2 blocis
Zach Edey - 24 pts, 12 reb, 59.7% FG, 2.9 blocks
They were pretty close on a per 40 last year.
I’ve been more than fair on my Edey takes this year. Christ a week ago I was fighting with home boarders who were doubting him. Thanks for doing the same.
It happens man. Dickinson is a finished product, Edey on the other hand is younger, and has only played organized basketball for 5 or 6 years before last year. His ceiling is higher than Dickinson’s for sure.
Just saying, if Edey didn’t have Trevion behind him he may just find himself on All-American lists this season. But he does have Trevion behind so not sure if he’ll have the raw stats to get him there. But if he’s at Purdue next season, book it. Dude is that good.
I’ve probably been the biggest non Purdue Edey supporter here. I don’t think I’ve trolled him once. These takes on Dickinson though? Lol. Let er rip, I guess.
Dickinson being compared to Edey is a compliment, not an insult.
No, why? I saw him ask what Dickinson does better than Edey but that was kind of my original point when I said not sure if he’s worse than Dickinson.
