Because ending the season as a national title runner up is way better than choking in the second round with two all Americans.

It’s different kinds of sucking. Sure a national championship game appearance is better for the program and considered a great run looking back. But having it within your grasp to win it all and not doing is sucks more than being upset early IMO. Just so dang close to the ultimate goal just to not get it. The loss itself hurts more.
