I'm not sure I'd call it a weakness, but Nojel doesn't seem like he has above average athleticism.

My argument for Nojel being athletic: can guard the other team’s best player every game, laterally quick, can be switched to any player at any time besides a big center probably, can dunk and stuff.

How much of that is a function of being 6'7" with a long wingspan? Is Draymond athletic? He can guard 1-5 at 6'7" and he can dunk, but I wouldn't say he's above average athletically.

Painter would never oversign we heard that for years.
He did it with Hale (lol) but he got sent to prep when a spot didn’t open. I want us to take an extra if the right guy wants to come.

At this point I’m close to wanting us to offer K. Powell, and then if we do indeed get Morton on top of Ivey, I’d want us to use an oversign and keep pursuing K Walton (who I think we have a great shot at, but dunno if Morton/Ivey would change that) and the Carlson kid from Minny.

For being a 4 and carving out a nice role in the nba and being one of the nba’s best defenders? Yeah I’d consider Draymond athletic compared to your average cat lol

What is your reasoning on Powell? I’ve been hesitant on that myself

I’d like to see some more video - which I may have missed over the weekend while I was camping - but the athleticism, mobility, and emerging jumper seem like a helluva fit to play ball screen offense with Morton/Ivey, on top of the fact that he’s supposed to be a great shot blocker. I’m not sold yet though.

Im all for it. Coaches get paid to win games. You need talent to win games. So if the right player comes about you absolutely do it.

I mean, obviously both Nojel and Draymond are more athletic than your average beer chugging couch slob.

Neither blow you away with their athleticism. Draymond is one of the best defenders because he has a higher IQ than the vast majority of NBA players. Not because he can jump higher, or is quicker, than the average NBA athlete.

I get that you aren’t necessarily defending the “weakness” comment by Snow, but Nojel couldn’t guard point at 6’6 220 if athleticism was a weakness. He’d get absolutely smoked if he was unathletic at that size.

Yeah I guess I’ve just always viewed him as another center in Purdue’s system and why I’m hesitant especially if they can get a Dickerson

Agreed - and we probably don't quantify athleticism the same. And like I said, I don't think its a weakness for him... I just don't think his athleticism stands out as above average. He's not an "above the rim" player. He's not Isaac Haas, but he's also not Miles Bridges.

I agree. But it’s nowhere close to a weakness like Snow mentioned. It’s at worse average I’d say.

Really? You can’t call somebody else stupid and then not properly capitalize the first word in the sentence.

Weak sauce
who worries about capitalize words now, or did you become the boards Gestapo on proper sentence structure?

I'd say a little above average. Certainly not elite. The dunk at 1:33 of this video is certainly not a sign of someone who's athleticism is a weakness.

Can’t even tag me anymore you’re so shook. Go back to the football board nobody wants you here.

Haha, rattled. I have been here longer than you and I am way more liked.

Your MO is fighting with a 70 year old cripple. You are a fvcking loser.

Do you remind yourself as you fall asleep at night how many e-friends you have? Nobody cares.

No need. Your whole shtick is trying to bad mouth Iowa to a cripple and you aren't even good at it.

You are a sad sack who brings nothing. And you have been getting drilled for being weak. Laughing

Step back for awhile and regroup. You need to.
