I wouldn't call IU "garbage". But yes, the Hoosiers have certainly missed the NCAA's far more lately. BUT......Yeah, you knew there was a "but". EVen with IU's struggles, Purdue (in the long run) hasn't been head and shoulders better. Since 2000---Purdue has 13 NCAAT appearances. IU? They have 11. So +2 for you guys. Now, since 2010, the margin gets wider: Purdue has 8 NCAAT....Indiana 4. On the other hand, though....Since 2010, Purdue has 3 B10 titles....IU 2.....Purdue has 4 SW16's.....IU 3.

You bumped a post I had already bumped. I did give a pretty wide margin of possible outcomes because I didn’t know if the offensive line was as bad as I thought it was. I gave a floor of 4 wins because I thought they’d win 4 of Nevada/Minny/MD/Vandy/TCU/Illinois/MD/IU even if they struggled throughout the year. & 9 if everything came together.

If the o-line was solid, the young defense did well, Sindelar having Rondale, Bell, Wright, Anderson, Hopkins, etc. at his disposal.

You say I keep bringing up the floor comment and ignoring the ceiling comment, I’m not. As @VulvHa said, my actual prediction was 6.5 wins.

And missing the tournament isn't the same as going 3-9 in football or whatever Purdue is headed to. You missed the point. When someone gives a floor-to-ceiling range and the team falls short of even the floor, then others are going to laugh at what you thought the possible ceiling was. That shouldn't be surprising.

All I know is you guys are 1-4, lost to Nevada and have been dump trucked by TCU and Penn State. None of you here thought you’d be in this position. What could Brohm have done differently to win some of these instead of losing?

Yeah you appear to be wrong but clearly weren’t remotely overhyping as you put a floor comment in there. Per usual Hail and Snu basically lie and exaggerate by claiming all Purdue posters were predicting Purdue was going to dominate.,Funny they haven’t produced a single post to support a notion that posters were predicting a Big championship , guaranteeing a west division title, etc. They tell lies long enough and it seems it’s accepted as truth in general. A few points on Brohm/Purdue:

1. I was over-ambitious with the 8 win total prediction when there were so many question marks around the o-line and youth on the team.

2. O-line needs a lot of work and will likely determine what kind of ceiling Purdue has the next 2 or 3 years.

3. Brohm and company are still recruiting at a level reminiscent of the Tiller era (hovering around top 25 recruiting classes) so the talent continues to pour into the program.

4. Injuries happen to every team but the magnitude of the players Purdue has lost can’t be overstated. Losing your RB1, QB1, DT, LB who all happen to be seniors was critical for a team that is still building depth. Throw in losing Rondale for however long it’ll be and that makes it that much tougher.

5. There is still complete faith in Brohm and his leash is still extremely long. Attendance is the best it’s been in a decade plus and fans have done a great job of showing up.

Actually what I remember was that there was acknowledgement from our side that you guys had injuries but also believing you had enough talent to not lose 12 out of 13.

If we had enough talent to not lose 12 of 13 when we had over half of our roster go down with injuries at one point, then Brohm sure as hell has enough talent to have not started off 1-4 considering you’ve only lost a few players on a huge roster. Next man up.
