*Official* 2017-2018 B1G In-Season Thread

The difference is I underestimated a coach without a D1 track record. You underestimated Beilein who has proven time and time again that he is one of the best in the country at developing guards.

A few things.

Holtmann did have a track record.

You said Osu was three years away. I simply asked how UM would be better than last year.

Is UM better this year?

You literally said "I assumed a bubble type team that was losing their three best players would struggle some this year and was surprised at UM fans thinking otherwise."

In reality, Michigan is sitting at 24-7 (13-5) and Kenpom's #16th team and en route to possibly a 5 seed.

You don't see that as you underestimating Michigan?

I think it's debatable, but regardless Orlando is moving the goalposts now. His posts imply that he thought Michigan would take a step back this year because we lost Walton/Irvin/Wilson. He was either underestimating Michigan, trolling, a bit of both.

You left out a big part of it. I asked a question about why UM would be better. You answered the question and I told you that it makes sense.

You laughed at the Holtmann hire and said Osu wouldn’t be in the tournament for 3 years.

You really don’t see the difference?

I think you guys are better this year. Top 40 Offense and top 15 defense. With that defense and Beilein's offensive prowess you could do some damage in the tournament.

That's the biggest difference.

Michigan might return it's top 2 leading scorers from a top 20 team with neither finishing in the top 2 in scoring next year.

IU should take care of business tomorrow against Rutgers. Will be favorites but IU historically loses game like this in the B1G tournament

Surprised no one is talking about this epic Minnesota/Rutgers matchup. :D

Minny with a hugely disappointing season, this is a fitting way for it to end. Rutgers they are who they are but played with heart all season and pushed some big teams to the brink a few times, not surprised they pulled out a win, you could tell after the first few mins that this game meant a lot to them.

Corey Sanders hit some huge shots just when they needed them. Can’t wait till tomorrow, there could be some really good games. Have to try and get off work at noon.

Silly season! Silly season! Silly season!
Nope it's Dilly season right now.

Nothing better than cutting out of work to drink beer and watch basketball. Missing the days of WVU playing in the Garden. I like the feel of the B1G being in MSG, might have to attend next year.

Watch out for that raucous Rutgers home court advantage.

I get that the comment is tongue in cheek, but after about a decade of watching the Big East tournaments, I don’t remember their fans actually being audible like they were tonight. And it’s not like they have an unusually good team or anything, just a typical last place Rutgers team.

Just a clinic going on on CBSSN right now. WolfPack getting some payback from the home lose to UNLV

Again, not accurate.

It’s incredible how hard you try to create conflict. I asked a question 6 months ago that was more than valid. You answered it and I told you I appreciated it and that it made sense. You pretending that it’s anything more is laughable.

Don't you dare lose tomorrow night. I deserved an IU dump truck this year and I was robbed of it because you guys avoided Mackey this season.

You damn well better beat Rutgers and take whats coming to you Friday night(and you better like it too).

They were audible because there was absolutely nobody in that Arena except for 600 drunken fans from New Jersey.

Re we just gonna let the fact that Iowa shot 29 more free throws than Illinois? Got it
and Illinois made has many 3's as Iowa shot 14 while Illinois shot 30 [THIRTY 3's] don't know of to many teams that have their 3 point shooters getting fouled. now do you? what you were expecting the refs to make up fouls on players when they miss a 3 point shot?

Illinois shot 25 shots within 5 ft of the basket. They don't shoot long 2's. It's part of their offense to get to the rim or shoot a 3. I can't blame them for shooting more 3's in the 2nd half when they continually got mugged and no-called in the paint. Underwood got his first technical of the season because it became egregious, and Frazier nearly got hurt after one blatant no-call. Bohannon subsequently was breathed on and drew a foul on the other end.

Not sure why, but an Iowa reporter asked Tyler Cook about the transfer rumors and he basically said it's the fans fault on twitter. Not sure if they are true, but either way, just STFU people

your breathing is mugging to me, or more correctly manhandled.

Iowa has been on the short end of the FT for most of the entire season.

34 of Iowa shots that were counted out of 48 were within the same distance as Iowa's game plan was to feed Garza and Cook in the post.

here were the foul break down
Cook 7-10
Nunge 3-4
Garza 3-3
Baer 4-4
Pemsl 3-3
Wagner 1-3
Kriener 1-2 all these are interior players
as I said the game plan was to work the ball inside, this leads to fouls.

hey last year Illinois swept Iowa and kept them out of the NCAAT as Iowa would have ended up 12-6 in the BT FOR the 3rd straight season. in the 15-16 season Illinois beat Iowa in the 1st round of the BTT.

PAYBACKS ARE A B***H.

Iowa shot 681 FTs this year and their opponents shot 547. Not sure where you are getting this notion that Iowa is getting a raw deal from the refs. Conference play it was a dead heat with Iowa shooting 321 and their opponents shooting 323.
