The previous times we won the outright regular season title 1999, 2000, and 2009 we made it to the Final Four in those years. Let's hope that trend continues but let's close the deal this time. That 2009 Final Four championship game loss at Ford Field still stings to this day. I'd rather lose in the 1st round to some no name school than make it all the way to the end to lose to Duke or North Carolina.
Odd thoughts.
So you would rather roll with a 2016 type of finish rather than 2010?
And why would the 2009 loss to Carolina still sting? A close loss to Butler in 2010 would sting a lot more than getting hammered by Carolina. The Heels were the clear cut best team when healthy and motivated and everyone knew this way back in November of that season.

Yes I'd rather get beat by a cinderella early in the tournament over getting blown out by Duke or North Carolina in a championship game especially when that championship game was played pretty much at "Home" in Detroit. Yes that one hurt more than way more than that Butler loss. For me personally I'm tired of losing to Duke and North Carolina especially in the NCAA tournament.
Feel bad for Brad Davison. Drops a 30-spot, but it comes in a loss and he has zero chance at being B1G POW. Should be able to snag FOW, though.
Kid's tough as nails. Really enjoy watching him play.Shoulder popped again. Can’t wait to see him with two healthy arms next year.
Not aging well.No effing way Dakota Mathias deserves to be on there. Also, I don't think Ward's 10.8 ppg will be enough for a conference team.
Leron Black will make a team. His offensive statline is nearly identical to Haas'. If Iowa even played the smallest amount of defense, I'd nearly be inclined to flip Haas and Cook, but Haas deserves it.
You're playing Minnesota. Good thing Dakota shows up against the bottom of the B1G.Not aging well.
Now you are tripling down on stupid. You're playing Minnesota. Good thing Dakota shows up against the bottom of the B1G.
He shot 47.4% from three against the top half of the conference. You're playing Minnesota. Good thing Dakota shows up against the bottom of the B1G.
Does Pitino really survive this season? A recruting class saving a coach just delays the inevitable
Sounds like you’re talking about Iowa. Thankfully they’re not smart enough to fire frantrum.
wtf was that tech?Refs love giving out stupid techs to Nebraska.
You are playing a team that is gameplanning against three other guys before him with limited guys who can defend. The guy is a solid player. Nothing more. He could never be a number one or two.Now you are tripling down on stupid. You're playing Minnesota. Good thing Dakota shows up against the bottom of the B1G.
LMAO, JFC. The follow up tweet is exactly what I was thinking when I saw this tweet
good for him. The past two games that piglet is referencing were against teams whose combined conference win total wouldn't put them in the top half of the big. Mathias isn't special. He shot 47.4% from three against the top half of the conference.
He isn't "special" but he's the exact kind of piece that differentiates between contending and not contending for championships. I hate Purdue and wish Dakota Mattias would get lost on his way to games, but that guy does things that help teams win basketball games. Indiana fans would compare him to Colin Hartman in 2016, before injuries completely sucked the life out of him. He played hard, shot it well, defended (Colin often as an out of position 4 or 5), and made smart basketball plays. Winning teams have guys like this often, and knowledgeable basketball fans notice.good for him. Neither is your comment on Purdue winning the B10....Not aging well.
He's a 3 and D guy. Every team wants that. Doesn't mean I'm wrong for thinking that others are better and more deserving of conference honors. He is a strong role player, and I don't think that's what the conference teams are for.He isn't "special" but he's the exact kind of piece that differentiates between contending and not contending for championships. If Penn State didn't have Tony Carr, they might be down by 45 right now.
Hint: you "game plan" for a teams strengths. Newsflash! Mathias 3 point shooting is a team strength. News flash 2! Mathias is very good at other parts of the game - assists, defense, rebounds, steals. You obviously are fascinated with the bright shiny objects in a game (scoring) while being completely ignorant of the total game. You are playing a team that is gameplanning against three other guys before him with limited guys who can defend. The guy is a solid player. Nothing more. He could never be a number one or two.
