No 1 seed for Baylor

Well, if you want to be fair the SEC left Auburn at home a year or to ago and they were a very good team. So, that knife cuts both ways. Regardless, we are not the ones claiming to be the best conference only pointing out ya'll are being a little cockalorum.

That's one team and they would have been around a 6 seed if there'd been a tourney. Every year four of the weakest SEC teams don't participate.

Btw, the guy who called the Big 12 the best league is a Duke fan. 🤣

Y'all could schedule UGA 10 times and it is not representative. We play a challenge and it is.
But that isn't what happened. The #8 team beat your #4 team by 20. They also beat Florida. Texas Tech beat your Vols. TCU beat A&M.

The SEC's only win before the challenge was your 4th place team beating the 9th place Big 12 team (which has a losing record).

Weird that you of all people are so adamant about these games being so meaningful. Your team is 0-2 vs the Big 12 and you didn't play either of the top two teams.

I bring it up because y'all were bragging about being the best. That claim is dubious at best. I also bring it up because it is fun. Finally, the SEC had Tennessee playing in the "clean up" position, but it was decided before UT even came to bat, so no sense in bringing our "A" game.:D

Why do B12 fans want to play the weakest SEC teams? Wouldn't you want your top 10 to play the SEC's top 10? Makes no sense that you'd want a few free wins vs cellar dwellers. Or do you have to have those free wins to win the challenge now?

I don’t think anybody’s looking for free wins. Just pointing out that the SEC’s #4 team beating the last place Big 12 team at home doesn’t exactly prove anything. Or the SEC winner beating the #8 Big 12 team at home.

Most of the early season matchups favored the SEC as well, and they still ended up 7-9 overall.

Interesting that none of you seemed to put much stock in the challenge when the SEC had won it once in the first 7 years. 🤣

At least we didn't bring up other games outside of the challenge and pretend like we won.

KU is the biggest lock for a one seed outside of Zona/Zaga.

KU is a one seed for sure. UK should get the last one seed. Maybe if they lose today that changes things but I don’t think it should.

I don’t think anybody’s pretending that the Big 12 won the challenge. But if people want to compare the leagues, it would seem that all games played are relevant.

What’s next? Only games played on a Tuesday count?

KU’s a 2 on Bracket Matrix. They might need to win tonight to get a 1.

Didn't that one guy start a whole thread about it? Anyway, doesn't matter. You won a few times way back in the past, and SEC is the current champ.

The challenge is fun to create matchups but one round of games doesn’t mean anything.

does anyone actually think UK is that much better than Kansas?

UK was great that night and is certainly capable of beating Kansas again but I think that would be a very even game.

You think you'd do better on a neutral court?

All I’ve read since that game is how horrible Brooks is. He looked like Jordan that night.🤣

They’re a bad matchup, but I’m sure a rematch would be competitive.

It's always going to look a little unbalanced because teams are going to outperform or underperform their preseason rank. They can't accurately predict the standings and base the matchups off of it.

I agree the B12 is a little better this year and all games should be considered. I just think it's weird that several B12 posters keep mentioning playing the bottom 4 teams.

Also, you guys have to admit the SEC has been getting better each year recently. I like where the conference is headed.

Yeah, of course it’s better and it could even be the best this year. I don’t think either league is definitively better than the other. The top 4 are strong in both leagues, and both leagues get pretty average after that.

Lol yes. that’s not even debatable. I would rather not see UK because the length can bother this particular team. We are much better now and we’re simply bad that night. But again, it would be a good game and im not saying we would win necessarily.

Kind of off-topic, going to be a great tourney- no clear cut favorite, with like 10-12 teams I could see winning it all.

Is Cryer back for Baylor next week?

Not sure on Cryer. they need him to have a chance.

But yeah I think the tourney is going to be very compelling.
I could see just about any top seed losing before E8. Im starting to get my hopes up about this Kansas team but I’m very well aware we could get bounced in the second round. This has been a good season but they are far from one of Bill Self’s best teams.

Remy Martin, Lightfoot and Yesufu are starting to be very good bench players.

Plenty of analysts Still have Baylor as a 1

their regular season was just so good it’s hard to take them off the 1 line. Auburn didn’t have the wins that Baylor did.

Remy martin is the key for a big run.

of course Ochai, Braun and Jalen playing lights out per usual.

KU locked up that 4th one seed today. Unless the committee decides to give K a going away present.

3rd*

4th is up for grabs between 3 teams done playing. Will be interesting. Honestly none of the 3 likely want the 1 out East compared to a 2 in the Midwest/south

KU better get with 1 seed in the Midwest. Most quad 1 wins by 2 games over Baylor who was 2nd. If they get shipped out East to a loaded bracket that will be BS.

Yes. Not saying we’d win, but we might. That was a bad performance at home. But yes on average night we would play better at home than on a neutral court, but that wasn’t an average performance for us at home. And it was one of the best performances UK has had all year, including your home games. But yeah if KU and UK played 10 neutral games, KU would definitely win a few of those and play you close in many more. So yeah more than likely the result on a neutral court will be much better than we saw that night.

Agreed. I’ll be honest I didn’t look at it much. They should still get a two.
The SEC knows how to beat UK. The secret to beating UK is to get Oscar Tshiebwe off the court. Thanks to the refs Pat Adams and Doug Shows he got to play 24 minutes. Plus UK could not hit a bull in the butt from three yesterday. Add to that Tennessee is a complete team.

Kentucky may still get a 2 seed but mainly because so many other highly ranked teams did not do any better.

Yep most teams in contention face planted. Same thing with Baylor before everyone else face planted in yesterdays games.
