KU holding DeSousa Out of Games

In the court of law....... wire taps and evidence are taking into account with more belief than a testimony during the trial. Why? because during a wire tap people dont know they are being tapped........ during a trial... people have time to make up lies.

When it came to the KU staff there was no wire tapping. Just text messages with no context given to the messages. Just left to a person's own conjecture on them. That's a pretty common practice of a defense to create doubt. There was a phone message involving Townsend over Zion submitted but not allowed into evidence so it was never actually heard or the full text ever released. In the end It's a going to be who do you believe and who don't you believe. There really isn't good evidence either way in this trial. I see the jury giving a not guilty judgement for this trial.

I think that’s a fair assessment. And rather logical.

I guess thats good for Bill Self, b/c they have nothing on wire tap and no evidence to support that our school or coach knew. All they have is testimony from two people. both with everything to gain by saying the staff knew.

Although, I wouldn't expect you to see this screenshot, apparently your mind doesn't allow you to see the true facts of the scandal.
Also, I've pasted multiple articles throughout this entire thread that you and you girlfriend refuse to read.

  • CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The N.C.A.A. did not dispute that the University of North Carolina was guilty of running one of the worst academic fraud schemes in college sports history, involving fake classes that enabled dozens of athletes to gain and maintain their eligibility."

What does this have to do with KU?

Amazing effort on everybody's part who is involved in that thread. I wouldn't tapped out after 15 minutes. They're on day 10 now or something ridiculous like that.

I think the defendants have a good chance at winning the appeal on the defrauding schools charge.... the other charges will stick though.

That evidence with Townsend and Code might end up being what gets KU in trouble......... for some reason I was forgetting about that not being allowed and the jurors never hearing it.

Do you all see any parallels in this thread that are in the "Anniversary" thread? What are your all's thought's about the accusations at KU?

I’m going to wait and see what happens. Some of you have your minds made up and they’re mostly UK fans. Had this happened to UK I would have same attitude because if it doesn’t go the way you hoped, there will be a lot pissy folks around here.

Could be admitted in the next two trials.

Why? KU/Townsend and Zion aren't involved in any of the trials in February and April. What would be the relevance of bringing it up? If it was brought up it would probably be thrown out again because it has even less relevance to do with those trials.

Who is involved in the next trials?

February is Chuck Person and Rashan Michel. They are on trial for accepting money to steer player to Marty Blazer.

April is for Book Richardson. On trial as well for accepting money to steer players to an agent. The

April trial is expected to involve more information as it could involve NIKE. Anything involving shoe companies could be thrown out though as they may not have any relevance since they involve agents and financial institutions.

Glad to know Zion is clean as can be.

The Agent who's gonna have his trial coming up later... He's boi's with Bill Self.

Never mind........ forget this........ they just raided his place for evidence.. sorry for the confusion.

I was going to say. I can't find anywhere where he was going on trial. Couldn't find any connection mentioned anywhere between Self and him either.

The 2 trials in the spring don't show any involvement in shoe companies. More involvement in pushing current players to sports agents. One mention of a recruit being paid by Book Richardson but that looks like it was directly paid to him. We'll see if any schools or shoe companies get brought up.

Exactly. As a basketball fan,I want to be entertain with high level craft. Zion is an entertainer.

I still follow college hoops more than the average Joe. But if I’m being 100% honest I don’t follow nearly as close as I used to. The one and done, high turnover rate, transfers all the time etc have soured me a bit. I’m looking forward to the one and done being trashed. Perhaps I’ll be more heavily involved then I currently am. End rant.

That's why I never liked seeing Self go after the OADs like he did. I hated seeing a player for a year. Love watching a player grow from what they are as freshmen to what they become as upperclassmen.

Geez, can we just start allowing players to market and get paid for others using their likeness?

It seems so simple but apparently some ppl don't want to share the wealth.

No, it's a totally different issue. The UNC scam involves UNC administrators and people within the sports programs that created a fake class and a system that enabled them to retain players over a period of 20+ years, that otherwise would have failed.
This thing with KU involves outside people, crooked people from Adidas.
To me it's more about adidas corrupting hs kids and college basketball by throwing money around and we don't know if Bill Self was actually a part of it. Looks like his comments could be taken out of context.

Mentioned? No, but the things that came out about DeSousa are not the same as what is known about all the other players.
The pre kansas stuff with under armor and maryland, the $2500 he received from someone, the alleged euro contract he might have signed. I cant see how the ncaa clears him again unless its provable he knew nothing about any of it.

I'm surprised Maryland isn't getting crushed on here. It's probably because there are no Maryland fans, but it seems like there is more slime on Maryland than anyone else.
But as far as players, Bowen and Ayton are the only ones that have been mentioned as often as DeSousa and since they aren't playing college ball they can't be put on ice.
So, to answer the Arizona fan's question, no, you can't sit "all the other kids that got mentioned".
