So what will the Top 10 look like after Auburn and Duke...

Other than the 2021 natty year, what do you mean by "run"?

Run, stretch, whichever word you want to use.

Would've been a 1 seed in 2020. Won it all 21, dominating one of the the highest-rated teams ever on Kenpom. Another 1 seed and Big 12 title in '22. Top 10ish in '23. Top 15ish last year.

My comment was tongue-in-cheek. However, Baylor ended 2020 losing 3 of their last 5 and got bounced in the 2nd round the past 3 years with double digit losses in the last 2.

Auburn's top 5 wins are no better than UK's (according to all the analytics nerds).

Yeah our wins are about equal. Losses on the other hand...

If you can lose 3 of the last 5 and still be a no-doubt 1 seed, you had a pretty damn good year. That was a great team. Same team that dominated Gonzaga the next year.

And you're bashing 2nd round losses when Pope hasn't even seen the 2nd round? 😆

Hurley might be the only coach who's done more than Drew in that span, and he had a couple first round losses.

Who's bashing 2nd round losses? You're the one that said Drew has been on a run since 2019. If 3 consecutive 2nd round losses is what you consider a run that's cool I guess. I doubt you'd be saying that if Self did it. As far as Pope goes, he's in his 2nd year in a power conference, which isn't exactly the same as coaching a mid major. I don't think I'll write him off just yet. His lowly, unranked Cougars beat pre-season #1 Kansas at their place in his first season though, so I guess you could say he already owns Self. 😂

After McCullar got injured, beating KU wasn't a great accomplishment.

Like I said, "run" meant stretch of seasons. The question was how many have done better? Hurley and possibly Self are the only coaches who have done more in that 5 year span than Drew.

It was such a non-accomplishment that it's the only home game Kansas lost last year. They lost plenty of games when McCullar was in the lineup, just not at home.

Well, I'm trying to be as fair as possible, UK fans aren't allowed to brag on here without getting blitzed.

McCullar played a lot of games while injured or re-injured. Bottom line: that team wasn't very good down the stretch. Which is why they lost 5 of the last 7, including the BYU game. KU was 16-3 before McCullar's injury, with wins over UConn, Tennessee and Kentucky.

Cincinnati blew KU out in KC a few weeks after the BYU game. Was Wes Miller on your short list too? 😆

I have nothing against Pope, but it's ridiculous at this point to suggest Drew is an inferior coach. I'll bet he'd kill it at Kentucky.

I was all in on Scott Drew.

If he can have the success he did at Baylor, no reason to think he couldn't have even more success at UK.

Glad things played out the way they did, though. Super impressed with Pope. Unfortunately for him, he changed my expectations for this year, as I would have been thrilled to just make the tournament after he put the team together in a couple weeks.

But the wins UK has had this year are impressive. Just need to figure out things defensively. If only they could play marginally better defensively, I would feel better about a deeper March run. Got to get guys healthy this week as well.

I think Drew is a really good coach, but I feel like he caught lighting in a bottle in 2020 and 2021, since then, he’s done fairly well, but nothing all that great. I'm glad we have who we have, I think Drew's best results are behind him.
