Kentucky fans. RE: Justin Powell...

Now that Pearl has settled back into the mediocrity we're used to, you should really stop letting that fluke final four run go to your head. It's not that uncommon for an upstart like Bruce or Loyola Chicago to make a run.

we will be one of the best teams in the sec every year pearl is here. We would kick the shit out of UK right now
Luckily you don't have to rely on hypothetical opinions and we get to see factual evidence a month from now and another month after that.

Oh, boy...A league that usually has one good team, if that. Sure setting your expectations high for Brucey.

A league that is 2nd in NCAA tourney win % in "the modern era". Bunch of overachievers.

Hm. And what's that % if you take out Kentucky?

The SEC is often Kentucky and a bunch of unranked teams. Do you deny this?

Sounds a lot like the Big 12, eh?

At least the SEC has had 6 titles by 3 different programs since 1985. All the Big 8/12 has is Kansas, with a paltry 2 titles for the conference.

No...it sounds nothing like the Big 12. Over the last decade or so, the Big 12 has had I think twice as many ranked teams (excluding KU and Kentucky) and a lot more top 10 teams.

Regardless, all that’s relevant is the current state of the league. Bruce Pearl ain’t goin up against Billy Donovan or Nolan Richardson, is he?

can I ask a serious question? Why does Cal rarely recruit any great shooters?

He focuses on athletes but he does recruit some pretty good shooters on occasion. Guys like Tyler Herro, Devin Booker and Jamal Murray immediately come to mind.

The problem is his offense is not conducive to great shooters. He likes to muck it up, play from the inside out and drive to the hole. it's like they don't even practice shooting three-pointers within his offense..
