Is your school getting it's money's worth with it's coach?

the thing about the NCAAT is one bad game ends your season
i try to enjoy the ride and most years deal with the heartbreak

two of my favorite Teams under Cal never won the title
Wall, Bledsoe, Cousins
Fox, Monk, Bam
They were so fun to watch. Every game was exciting up and down fast break Rupp inspired basketball.

What Calipari is doing better than Krzyzewski is getting the next tier recruits to come to Kentucky. I think that is because Calipari plays his bench. If we're being honest, all of us are in trouble if these OADs start committing to unc.
Calipari played his bench to a fault in '15....or at a fault for playing his sophomores....depending on which UK fan you ask.

the next wave of OAD players will be that second tier
CBB is about to get watered down on talent

I thought ending the OAD for top talent, to go straight to the Draft of GLeague, was supposed to make college basketball more exciting.

I certainly agree championships aren't everything but I thought UK fans thought they were. I thought you didn't honor players or teams for anything other than winning it all. Maybe all those dudes are gone though.

Tennessee coach Rick Barnes makes 3.25 mil/yr and that is a bargain. He was COY this year and SEC COY last year. He even got in trouble with the NCAA for using his own money to up his asst coaches salaries.

How about your school? Is he money well spent or is he robbing y'all?
Cal should be making 15 million/year at Kentucky. He has Kentucky in the mix for a final four every year compared to the majority of most coaches.

As noted before, He brings in more than he cost.

If it wasn't for Brad, we'd charge stud fees after he's retired.

Syracuse basketball made over $31M in revenue and $17M pofit this year. That ranks the program 3rd and 2nd, respectively, in the nation.

Jim Boeheim makes less than $2.5M per year in salary.

I'd say we're getting our money's worth.

Yes. If anything I feel like our coach is underpaid. Granted he only had one season as a Div 1 head coach when we first hired him.

Roy is a steal at that price.

I think UK is getting its money’s worth. Cal’s value as the head coach goes way beyond basketball imo.

We could fire a coach every year and still come out on top by avoiding what UK is paying yearly for Cal.Laughing
...and while probably having the same amount of post season success. Save money, beat UK, waste a #2 seed. ROI is fulfilled. Just beat UK and they'll forget about the #2 seed hiccup before the tournament is even over.

I really hope you stick around the entire postseason.

I agree with the premise that championships aren't the only measure of success. And overall, Calipari has had more postseason success with the OADs. But it has been since 2015 that either Duke or Kentucky has been in the FF. It is that stretch that both teams have relied heavily on OADs.
It sure has been a long time for a final four. I was hoping for this year. Dang.

2015 for UK will be hard to duplicate. 38 straight wins.

We love Cal. We go farther in the NCAA tournament every year than Tennessee so Cal is definitely worth it.

It's like we're in a Final four drought out of mourning. We can't get past the last one.

gotit

Calipari doesn't want to embarrass himself again in the Final four so he's purposely blowing late leads in all the big games he's coached in. Self just ran out of time.

My headliner (condom) is better than Yahoo's collective rejects of creativity. And don't at me with journalism isn't creativity, it's reporting news.

What you don't understand is that I'm not a smug, entitled, arrogant fan. By your standard, UK fans are miserable if they don't win it all. We didn't have a roster full of lottery picks, but we had a very good team that had a great season. I have had a great time this season.

So, UT is your measuring stick? You will need to start winning a higher portion of those head to heads.:)

Frank Martin makes just 2.85 million which is third in the SEC and 17th in the country. I am not sure if that is still accurate. I would say no. The final four run was fun but no momentum was gained from that. We had some serious injuries this year so time will tell. His recruiting needs to step up. 3 stars are not going to be good enough.

This had to include donations. No way Northwestern is that high. No way. And we are generally in the top 20.

How does UL lead this?

How does UL lead this?

My guess is donations, marketing money, etc....

UK leads in attendance so assuming ticket prices are similar, UK would be #1 at the gate alone. They average over 21K pre game

So now you want UK fans to enlighten you on history?

It's a pretty easy question and easily found on google, but much love on the UK fans s/o.

That is fine. I suppose we will assume the obvious that UL is superior to UK at business dealings.
You can assume away.

If you're interested in your original question about UL. It's super easy to find.

Isn't it remarkable, with 2 wins against UK, Tennessee still isn't on that list. Wow, that's pathetic. 24th. Hahaha.

Yeah, it looks like UK doesn't sell the name rights for their arena. Where UL does to KFC. Like the poster above mentioned, I bet that is a big chunk of it.
