Iowa has lost to the eventual NC, more times than I can count

You can't count past six?

2016: Villanova, 2nd Round
1999: UConn, Sweet 16
1992: Duke, 2nd Round
1991: Duke, 2nd Round
1980: Louisville, Final Four
1956: San Francisco, NCAA Finals

K has lost to the champ 9 times alone.

Because Duke is always in the FF

Oregon has lost to the champion 3 times in the last decade. I don't think those six times are as many as the OP thinks.

Hmm, only one game in the 21st century. One that barely made it past WWII.

Since '88, farthest Iowa has gone is 2 SS...lol

'Nova under Jay:
2014 - UConn
2009 - UNCheat
2008 - Kansas
2006 - Florida
2005 - UNCheat, phantom travel call

Pre-Jay:
1982 - UNC
1971 - UCLA
1949 - Kentucky

Other:
2019 - Purdue, lost to Virginia
1988 - Oklahoma, lost to Kansas
1983 - Houston, lost to NC St.

Hence playing the eventual NC's in the second round, Jack off

Those were easliy elite 8 teams if we didn't play the champs.

Do you really think the 2016 team was Elite 8 caliber? Granted it was the only game I saw Iowa for a full game that year, but......

Well, let's see here....the 2016 7 seed that Nova stomped was going nowhere.

I don't think the #21-ranked 99 team that finished 9-7 in conference was a shoe-in for the elite 8 either.

And for some reason I doubt the #9 seed that lost to Duke in the second round in 92 would have reached the elite 8. Or the 9 seed that did the same in the previous year.

We appear to have some pretty desperate revisionist homerism on display here. Poor Iowa fan. Not even a legit "what if..."

Yes. Maybe even Final Four caliber

Well, we all wear homer tinted glasses at times. And, just my opinion. but for that one game I did not see it. In that game Iowa was over-matched significantly--skill and toughness. Yes, nova beat up Miami right after that and Oklahoma in the FF, but obviously the games against Kansas and UNC were at another level.

F Coach K. We don't claim him in Chi Town. We traded him to North Carolina for the rights to claim Michael Jordan (yes I know he's actually from Brooklyn)

Jordan may have been born in Brooklyn, but he's a North Carolina native. His family moved to Wilmington before his first birthday.

Do you even remember 1987? Lol

KU and IU try so hard to act Blue Blood, when you both are garbage.

Borden, get in reality. I know what Iowa is but you still think it's the 80s lol.

Let that sink in.
As bad as IU has been, we have more Big 10 titles in the past 10 years, than Iowa has had the past 40...

I know where Indiana is.....I don't think you know where Iowa is.Laughing

I mean the past 20 years have been arguably the worst in IU history...Yet, still, Iowa would take those results in a heartbeat...RollLaugh

No big argument...I mean compared to KU,. UK, Duke, etc, etc...Sure. Compared to Iowa?

Laughing

I'd rather have a history, opposed to having to wish for one.Laughing

You asked if I recall 1987----Yep. I was 16. Do you recall Iowa's last title?Winking Hell, were you even born win Iowa went to their last FF-----1980.
