That's a bold statement. Dude was the leading scorer in the Italian league. 29 goals in 31 games, essentially 1 goal per game.
People don't hit a certain age and abruptly see their play on the field start to suffer. The decline is going to be different for some players. While Ronaldo may not be the same player, he's still very much world-class. Zinedine Zidane was 34 in the '06 WC and was easily the best player in that tournament.
Zlatan was coming off a torn ACL too. He wasn't great that year while still recovering and went to MLS.

Holy shit Switzerland. Two goals in 10 minutes to tie it up in the 90th minutes.
Can't believe how similar these two games have unfolded. Underdogs both went up 1-0; the favorites surged back to score 3 goals, only to have the underdogs score 2 goals in the final 10+ minutes to level the score. So... will France score two goals in overtime?
