Penalty Kicks😂

They are looking for one. Or direct kicks as well.

All these European teams outside of the big ones go through phases
Portugal isn’t that good right now.

It was 5 years ago. 5 years is a long time in the sport when you are in your 30’s
Look at the rosters and tell me how many 35+ players you have that a non goalkeepers

France is that loaded.
Mbappe plays for PSG. You can excuse that because they are trying to be a huge club. But the rest of the players play for all top clubs. Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona and then the Big clubs of the EPL
Juventus is behind of them right now. All of Serie A is.

Not playing 90 minutes a game for multiple countries at 36.

Simple as that. Not the same player he was 5 years ago. You can give him credit for 3 PKs. Even then. Kane won the Golden Boot in the World Cup. He definitely isn’t a world class forward

Portugal is in trouble.
Like I said they had Luis Figo before him. Was World class
Then Ronaldo. Have had a world class player for the last 25 years

They need to create another
Ronaldo is 36
Not going to happen

João Felix is 21. They already have their next go to guy. You’re in over your head dude RollLaugh

Very good.
So shouldn’t he have been the key point of the team. He played on the best team in La Liga.
Most people would have given up and just said damn I don’t watch that much soccer I had no idea they had another young gun, but you double down and try to save face making yourself look somehow dumber. Fvck off ****

Don’t get upset. Read what I wrote in the beginning.
The sport sucks. The reason why is that coaches are forced to do things they may not want to do.
Because of the money in the sport

Happens in the US with roster decisions.

Ronaldo should have taken a step back. Not the player he was

Ronaldo is at worst the second best player of the 21st century. Yes he's taken a step back. Yes he still is good enough to be a written in stone starter.

Not sure losing to Belgium is an indictment on anybody anyway. If KdB, Hazard and Lukaku are healthy that's as good as any attacking group in the world.

Zlatan was just as good in 2018 and he didn’t even make the Sweden roster for the World Cup

Your statement conflicts with what actually happened.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has previously said no to playing for the national team -- and he hasn't changed his mind. 'I talked to Zlatan on Tuesday. He told me he hasn't changed his mind regarding playing for the national team -- it's still a no.
Ronaldo wouldn’t even be playing for a few teams

That's a bold statement. Dude was the leading scorer in the Italian league. 29 goals in 31 games, essentially 1 goal per game.

People don't hit a certain age and abruptly see their play on the field start to suffer. The decline is going to be different for some players. While Ronaldo may not be the same player, he's still very much world-class. Zinedine Zidane was 34 in the '06 WC and was easily the best player in that tournament.

Zlatan was coming off a torn ACL too. He wasn't great that year while still recovering and went to MLS.

He literally would be on every national team in the world and would start for almost all of them. Even a team like France with a stacked roster, nobody would take Giroud over him. Not sure anyone is arguing he's the player he was a few years ago.

Now if you wanna argue being a Ronaldo centric team hurt Portugal, I could see that. There have been players hurt at the club and national team level by rosters being built around him (and Messi) but they are the caliber of player where that's understandable.

That first touch by Benzema on the equalizer was incredible. One of the best I've ever seen.

Can't believe how similar these two games have unfolded. Underdogs both went up 1-0; the favorites surged back to score 3 goals, only to have the underdogs score 2 goals in the final 10+ minutes to level the score. So... will France score two goals in overtime?

Great games.
