I think there is a good chance the bracket opens up, but we are not as good as our last Final Four team. Syracuse is also scorching hot right now, it will be a tall task to get by them tomorrow.

The Big 10 has derailed but there are no brakes on the Big 12 train. Good move.

Don't care.

So where's the hotbed in Texas?

This has been building for awhile now..

Don't know if this year will be the huge breakthrough.

Regarding where the talent is...
Houston/Golden Triangle vs Metroplex

Personally I think those Dallas players don't have what they have in Houston.

Both areas have great HS coaching and the AAU coaching is elite as well.

What schools are recruiting down there? And having success.

Difference between Roy and Bill Self has been Recruiting Texas for Kansas.
Kentucky has gotten some players. PJ is actually from there but was living here. Fox moved here from New Orleans when he was young. Harrison brothers were from Texas.
Both UNC and Duke have gotten players.

I remember Randle at UK.

Any room for Iowa?

Fran has his mind on what he wants to be..

I actually like the basketball. He is up there with Lon Kruger and others when it comes to finding ways to score the basketball...

He has the players he pinpoints for his program.

On Iowa basketball to decide what they want to be.

Basketball recruiting is very different than football.

Two different things....

Basketball you have wider talent pools but those players have to pick your school over the others...

Sometimes that is because it is near home or others it is the relationship that coaches have.

Not off the top of my head do I remember anyone talking about Fran or any of the coaches at the program.

Not to get this sidetrack but I am going to bring this back to WVU....

Calipari is 100% NBA...
All he sells.
Nothing wrong with that.

A lot of players want to play in the NBA.

Huggins doesn't at all. Bob Huggins just won his 900th game. Huggins has a couple of Texas boys up there.
Huggins is well respected by all programs because of how he coaches basketball.

Everyone is different.
Sometimes each style doesn't work.
As we saw with Kentucky this year

Look man, we have tried in every great player in the Midwest and East Coast.

No one is buying yet. And Fran's kids are some of our best connections.

It's not a "pinpoint" thing, it's just fall back recruits at times

We will see with Iowa.

Check out what UNT did with Purdue's bigs...

The difference is Iowa can flat out shoot. I don't know if Oregon will be able to do that with Iowa.
They lack size. I think even more than North Texas did.

I think Kansas could be vulnerable...

So it will become your guards vs the guards against USC possibly

We will see what happens with Iowa.
Truthfully I think Iowa could give Gonzaga a better rematch.

Have to get physical with Kispert and Timme IMO

I'm a Metroplex guy.

Julius Randle - Kentucky - Prestonwood Christian Academy
Tyrese Maxey - Kentucky - South Garland HS
Drew Timme - Gonzaga - J.J. Peace HS
Marcus Garrett - Kansas - Skyline HS
RJ Hampton - NA - Little Elm HS
Jahmi'us Ramsey - Texas Tech - Mansfield HS/Duncanville HS
Keenan Evans - Texas Tech - Berkner HS (Got us to the Elite 8 in 2017-18)
De'Vion Harmon - Oklahoma - Guyer HS
Etc.

I called the upset of Syracuse over WVU, and got this one right. Though tbh I thought I was wrong and WVU had this one when they came back to take the lead, and yet they couldn’t hold onto this and somehow lost the game anyway.

Because Buddy effing Boeheim had an answer for everything.

Well Boeheim is a very good tournament coach when his team was an underdog. The 10th seeded Syracuse made to final four in 2014, and 11th seeded Syracuse made it to sweet 16 in 2018. Even that 2013 final four run, they pulled off 2 upsets against Indiana and Marquette. On the other hand, they seem to perform a lot worse when favored to win, this is a very strange team. I think the zone is a double-edged dagger, it makes them a pesky team to play against, but by doing so they are also vulnerable against mid majors.
