Dark horses to make a Final Four run.

For lack of a better place to put this…Purdue’s hard to categorize. You’d have to call them a final four contender, but we know that you can’t win it all without a decent standard of defense. Their defensive efficiency on Kenpom is 103. By far the lowest of any team in the top 15. Maybe they’re good enough offensively to overcome it.

Also, forgot about Oregon. They still have some work to do just to get into the tournament. Their OOC season was atrocious. But, they have solid road wins over UCLA, USC, and Colorado. They have athletes. They have experience. And Altman is a great coach. I would not want to face them in the 1st or 2nd Round.

I saw that this morning, that’s one hell of an awful defense for a potential 1 seed.

This is challenging. I think we all will probably have a ton of early round upset picks, but to take it all the way to the F4 is a different ask.

I'll say ...

Notre Dame, and I'm not even 100% they are getting in. So they for sure qualify as a dark horse. Multiple shooters. Annoying to play, actually run a decent half court offense.

I would say Hogs- were ranked in top 15 at one points, winning 8 straight right now..

They’re an offensive machine, so maybe it will be a rare case in which defense isn’t necessary. Who knows…

I wouldn’t look forward to playing them solely because of Ivey. Seems like he can get a bucket anytime they need one.

Yeah - just my opinion , while Carson Edwards was a scoring machine , Ivey is more versatile overall player - makes it scary for any team facing Purdue next month.
