Winning makes you arrogant but damn telling the ref don't turn your back on me, he needs a reality check in the worse way.
He caught lightning in a bottle, now he's back to being mediocre like he was the first dozen years of his head coaching career.

He is out of the boot now but not sure one xact time fram. Steven Pearl said yesterday they dont want to play him until he is 100 percent. If he doesnt play this saturdayni expeft him for ole miss the next Saturday

I'm sad to say this, because I loved my childhood and upbringing in NJ, but that dude is definitely from the Northeast. This isn’t strange to anyone that lives over there.

I'm pretty sure that the one qualifier for being considered "the best" is the fact that you don't have to say it yourself.
Lightning in a bottle was him getting a gig at UCONN. I feel like all you gotta do there is put a decent team together and you’re nearly guaranteed to get a title or make a deep run. That program…somebody slaughtered a goat to the basketball gods many years ago and they’ve had the most insane tourney luck ever. I mean one year didn’t they even hit a full court shot or something to get there? It seems that with UCONN, every important basket finds a way to go in, even if it’s their worst shooter taking it, and on the flip side, opponents stumble over themselves. You could give Steph Curry a wide open corner three and if UCONN is the opponent, and it happens in the tourney, he would miss it. Every time. If UCONN played an ALL NBA squad of Bird, Miller, Curry, and Ray Allen, and it was in the NCAA tourney, that foursome would inexplicably go 4-40 from deep.

Honestly was surprised he didn't get a HC job last offseason. Considering the offense is still elite, maybe he will now?
I've heard there are some hesitations about whether he's got the temperament to be a head coach.
Depends on definition of great and definition of not an asshole but I'd consider the following:
Jay Wright
Tony Bennett
Matt Painter
Bill Self
Leonard Hamilton (before he got too old)
Scott Drew
Shaka Smart
He's got a tremendous 2 year run that we all are envious of. But outside of those 2 years:
38-23 (.623) at Wagner (no NCAA tournaments in 2 years)
113-82 (.579) at Rhode Island (2 NCAA tournaments and 2 wins in 6 years)
87-52 (.626) at UConn (2 NCAA tournaments and 0 wins in 4+ years)
So that's 238-157 (.603) in 12+ seasons with 4 NCAA tournaments and 2 wins. That record would get you fired at a lot of places.
And since you mentioned his brother, he has never won an NCAA tournament game in his 11+ seasons at Buffalo and ASU and has a sub .500 record in conference play 81-93 in 9+ seasons at ASU.
Inwouldnt consider jay wright or tony bennet as assholes.
